“I woke up one morning to find that a man had started building a house on my land" says Vivian, a single mother and farmer from rural Zambia.

For women in Zambia, losing land happens more often than you might think. Many women work on farms, but are prevented from owning them due to long-standing social and cultural norms.

But Vivian had something the man didn't — official land ownership papers.

This was possible thanks to donor support of iDE's Her Time to Grow project.

When the local Chief asked, "Who has the papers?" Vivian stepped forward. Her land was saved in an instant.

Donor support has helped 156 women (and counting) secure legal land rights — protecting their livelihoods and their families' futures.

Vivian’s triumph is just one of many great things iDE donors helped make happen this past year. Discover how generosity is driving change for good in the latest Impact Report.

Around the world, period poverty forces women and girls to miss work and school. But local entrepreneurs are changing that.

To celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day, we want tell you about Monowara. She’s a single mother and entrepreneur from Bangladesh.

Monowara saw an opportunity to sew and sell reusable period pads because disposable ones were hard to find in her community. She then expanded to stock a low-cost pad vending machine inside a local school.

Now, people in her community have better access to the products they need — meaning fewer missed days of school and work.

By powering entrepreneurs working in menstrual health, you aren't just improving their lives, you're unlocking education and opportunity for their customers too.

Stu Taylor, our CEO, just got back from Ghana where he saw firsthand how your generosity is providing the tools and opportunities to help people thrive!

The Ghana team even got Stu on the dance floor... you'll have to connect with him for that video!

19,000 kilometres, biked over 3 continents 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️

It's more than just an endurance ride.

What Kristen and P.L. are doing through Cycle 5 To Survive is a powerful commitment to creating hope, opportunity, and lasting change.

iDE Canada is so grateful to be one of the charities chosen to be part of this incredible journey.

Their next ride, starting this summer, will take them across Africa.

They’ve named this next ride Pamoja Safari — a Swahili phrase meaning journey together.

You can follow their journey on YouTube (youtube.com/) or by signing up for email updates at cycle5tosurvive.com
