Happy ! 🌟 Youth Member Spotlight: Darci 🌟

Meet Darci, a Grade 9 student from St. Malo in the Southeast Region!

Darci has been riding horses since she was just 2 years old and says it's one of her favourite pastimes. When she's not in the saddle, she enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.

Her hard work and dedication to horseback riding have paid off, recently earning 1st place in the Pattern 5 and Pattern 8 class as well as 3rd place in the Ranch Reining class. What an amazing accomplishment!

Darci has attended IWS events in the past, and we're excited to feature her in this week's Youth Member Spotlight. Her passion for the outdoors and commitment to her sport are inspiring examples of the many talents within our youth community.

Thank you for sharing your story with us, Darci! 💙

Happy Friday!

✨ Creative Spotlight: Kylie Kubas✨

This month we're featuring Kylie of Kylie’s Kreations, a talented bead artist and instructor whose passion for beadwork shines through in every piece she creates. 🧡

After taking a beadwork class three years ago, Kylie discovered a love for beading that never left. From brick stitch and fringe earrings to wristlets and flat stitch projects, she enjoys exploring new techniques and trusting the process as each design comes together.

For Kylie, the most rewarding part of beading is creating meaningful pieces and seeing the happiness they bring to others. As she says, every needle poke is worth it when you see someone's reaction to a handmade gift.

In addition to creating her own beautiful work, Kylie shares her knowledge as a beadwork instructor, leading classes through IWS youth programs and ELCC Stay, Play & Bead programs. She recently facilitated a beading circle for youth through IWS, where her kindness, patience, and encouraging teaching style helped create an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

We're grateful for artists like Kylie who help keep beadwork traditions thriving while inspiring the next generation of creators. Be sure to check out Kylie’s Kreations and show her some love! ✨
