🍁 Happy Thanksgiving, friends and family! 🍁

This Thanksgiving, our hearts are filled with gratitude for our Freedom House family, our board, our donors, and our amazing volunteers. Thank you for your love, generosity, prayers, and faithful support. Each one of you plays such an important role in what God is doing through Freedom House, and we are truly grateful for you!

Six weeks ago, we began our Foundations of Faith series, and over the last two weeks, we have been focusing on two vital pillars of our faith: prayer and reading the Bible.
But why are these two disciplines so important?

🙏 Prayer is how we communicate with God. It is where we bring our worries, our burdens, our gratitude, and our dreams before Him. Through prayer, we draw closer to His heart and learn to trust Him, even when life doesn't make sense.

📖 Reading the Bible is how we grow in our knowledge of God and His truth. His Word guides our steps, strengthens our faith, renews our minds, and reminds us of His promises when we need them most.

Prayer deepens our relationship with God, and His Word helps us recognise His voice and walk in His ways. Together, they strengthen the foundation on which we build our lives.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, may we remember that gratitude is more than something we express when life is going well. It is a posture of the heart that recognises God's goodness in every season.

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

May we continue to grow in faith, remain rooted in His Word, stay connected through prayer, and give thanks in all circumstances.

This week, Jared shared a powerful message on faith as we continued our Foundations of Faith series.

We also continued our baptisms, with four people taking this beautiful step of faith and obedience. What a joy to witness people saying yes to Jesus and publicly declaring their faith in Him.

Lord, continue to move in our midst. May our faith grow deeper as we walk with You, trust You, and surrender more of our lives to You.

“Your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:19

More of You, Lord. More faith. More surrender. More of Your presence. ❤️

Week 3 of our Foundations of Faith series was such a beautiful Sunday at Freedom House.

Derrick shared on Spiritual Family , what does a family do? We were reminded that faith was never meant to be lived alone. Family shows up, carries one another, celebrates together, prays together and makes room for one another.

And today, we celebrated baptism! What a joy to witness people taking this beautiful step of faith and publicly declaring their commitment to Jesus. 🙏🏽

We had a full house, full hearts, and an awesome dinner afterwards! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who prayed, served, cooked, welcomed, encouraged and celebrated with us. This is family. This is church. This is Freedom House.

Jesus is still changing lives, and we are grateful to be part of the journey.

Foundations of Our Faith
We are now in Week 2 of our Foundations of Our Faith sermon series.

Week 1 began with Derrick sharing on Who is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit? The Trinity. From the very beginning, God has shown us that we were never created to do life alone. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit reveal to us the beauty of relationship, unity and community.

This past Sunday, we continued building our foundation by looking at the Holy Sacraments , Water Baptism and Holy Communion. It was such a beautiful Sunday as we were reminded of what these sacraments mean to our faith and our walk with Jesus.

And we are looking forward with great expectation to our Baptismal Service this Sunday!

For those who pray with us and pray for us, thank you. We are trusting God for complete freedom, healing and restoration for our brothers and sisters as they take this step of faith.

We believe that what God begins, He is faithful to complete. ❤️

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Thank you for choosing to serve alongside us. We are so grateful that God brought you here and that you chose to use your time, gifts, and hearts to serve our community.

It was such a blessing to have you with us, to serve together, laugh together, and share in what God is doing here in Winnipeg.

We love our Every Nation family, and we are so grateful for you! Thank you for saying yes to serving. 💛

"Have the same mindset as Christ Jesus..." Philippians 2:5

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, but there is an invitation to be transformed.

The question isn't just, "Who am I at church?" but "Who am I behind closed doors?"

As followers of Jesus, God calls us to renew our minds not to think like the world, but to think like Christ. The more time we spend with Him, the more our hearts begin to desire what He desires.

Philippians 2:1-11 paints a beautiful picture of Jesus: humble, selfless, obedient, and willing to serve. He didn't seek His own glory but humbled Himself for our sake.

Our prayer should be: "Lord, make my heart look more like Yours. Renew my mind. Shape my attitudes. Let my life reflect Jesus, both in public and in private."

Transformation is a journey. God loves us too much to leave us unchanged. As we surrender to Him daily, He continues His faithful work of making us more like Christ.

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5 Thank you Jared for sharing the word.

Paul's vision for the church is simple, yet profoundly life-changing. Philippians 2 vs 1-11

A Spirit-formed community is marked by:
🤍 Humility "Count others more significant than yourselves."
🤍 Care for Others "Look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."
🤍 Christlike Service "Have the same mindset as Christ Jesus."

Imagine what our churches, families, and friendships would look like if every believer lived this way.

Thank you to everyone who served today. Your humility, love, and willingness to serve reflect the heart of Christ. We love and appreciate each one of you!

Paul saw life as an opportunity to serve Christ and death as the joy of being with Him. Yet he chose to keep serving others, putting their spiritual growth above his own desires.

A powerful reminder to live for Christ and love others well.
