Today we started our journey through Philippians.

Pastor Derrick introduced the book by explaining who wrote it, when and where it was written, and why Paul wrote it. What stands out is that Paul wrote this letter while imprisoned, yet it is filled with joy, gratitude, and hope.

A powerful reminder that our circumstances don't have to determine our attitude. True joy is found in Christ, not in what is happening around us.

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6

Thank you EN Winnipeg for serving today! Love and appreciate you guys!

This afternoon, We had Jared Chapel share the word. He is a young man who loves Jesus and serves the Lord with so much passion. There were many nuggets of wisdom he shared in his sermon. Here's a few: One of the things that has stayed with me is this simple truth: you can belong before you believe.

Sometimes we think we need to have all the answers before coming to God, but often God welcomes us long before we fully understand Him.

God sees you when no one else does. He sees your struggles, your fears, your questions, and your pain.

Following God does not mean fear disappears. In fact, some of the greatest acts of faith happen while fear is still present. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is choosing obedience despite it.

We learn to hear God's voice through prayer, bringing before Him our families, our friends, and the people He has placed in our lives. The more we listen, the more we recognize His leading.

At the end of the day, following Jesus is a decision. It means choosing God's way over the easy way. Not doing what simply feels right in the moment, but doing what His Word says.

May we be people who listen to God, trust Him through our fears, pray for those we love, and follow Him faithfully wherever He leads.

Thank you to our Sunday team for serving with so much love and grace for our community!

What a beautiful Pentecost Sunday ,a precious time walking in the presence of God and being reminded that we are empowered by the Holy Spirit. We were never meant to do ministry alone.

So thankful for the sweet presence of God today, for our friends at Elm Creek, and for Ps Kevin and ministry team from New Song Church in Windsor, Ontario, for blessing us with song and prayer.

Be Blessed Friends, and have a great week ahead!

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord. 🔥

The disciples waited.

Not for a program.Not for a platform.Not for influence.

They waited for the Holy Spirit.

In Acts 1, Jesus told them to stay and wait for the promise of the Father. In Acts 2, the Spirit came with power and ordinary people became bold witnesses who changed the world.

Sometimes waiting feels unproductive, but holy waiting prepares us for holy purpose.

Pentecost reminds us that we were never meant to do ministry, life, or faith in our own strength. Thank you Derrick Moodley for sharing the word!

Come Holy Spirit. 🔥

Grateful to the Lord for an awesome Sunday. There are many volunteers who make Sundays flow smoothly. Thank you to this beautiful team, Appreciate each one of you!

The 40 days from Jesus’ death and resurrection to His ascension were a powerful season of transition. During that time, Jesus appeared to the disciples, proving that He was truly the Son of God and alive again. He also prepared them for the mission ahead. What seemed like a waiting period was actually preparation, the transition equipped them to go on and do great things through the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Cameron Asman for sharing the word, thank you EN for faithfully serving. It's always a joy to have you at FH.

Have a great week guys!

Sometimes following Jesus looks like madness to the world but to those who know Him, it’s the only thing that makes sense.

Faith will lead you beyond comfort, beyond logic, beyond what feels safe. It will call you to step out, to trust deeply, to obey even when it costs you something.

Those who truly know Jesus don’t just walk cautiously, they run. They run toward His presence, toward His voice, toward His calling.
Because when you’ve encountered Him, “crazy” obedience becomes a natural response to extraordinary grace. A really encouraging word today.

Another great Sunday. Thank to everyone who has served with so much love and care. You guys are awesome.

What an incredible afternoon we had yesterday at Freedom House! A full house, hearts full of joy, and people worshipping Jesus together.

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” Sometimes, “the world” looks like going downtown and sharing His love right where we are.

Thank you to Crossway Elm Creek and St. Mark Coptic Church for your beautiful, generous hearts. 💛

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’”Psalm 122:1

Church isn’t just a place we attend, it’s a place where we encounter God, grow together, and are reminded that we belong.

What we receive in His presence, we carry into our everyday lives and into how we serve our community.

We had a full, full house today and we are so blessed to have awesome volunteers who served with so much joy! Thank you

Our Volunteer Orientation was a beautiful reminder of what it means to follow Jesus.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” 1 Peter 4:10

Different stories, different backgrounds but one heart: to serve.

Thank you for being part of it. We’re so grateful and so expectant for what’s ahead at Freedom House.

Easter reminds us that hope is never lost.

The Resurrection is a powerful reminder that light always overcomes darkness, and that even in our most broken moments, God is still at work bringing healing, renewal, and new life.

No matter what you’re facing today—grief, uncertainty, or weariness—Easter tells us that this is not the end of your story. There is still hope. There is still purpose. There is still life ahead.

✨ Death does not have the final word
✨ Joy can come after sorrow
✨ You are never walking alone
✨ Love and grace will always prevail

Hold onto hope today. Because of Easter, hope is alive—and it’s for you. 💛

As always, grateful to all our volunteers who served today!
