On May 1st, members of our group were invited by Ogniwo Polish Museum to participate in the Polish flag raising ceremony at City Hall to mark the beginning of Polish Heritage Month in Canada.
On this Polish Flag Day and Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, we’re proud to celebrate our heritage and the flag that represents our community!

It’s April 29th - International Dance Day!
Three Polish folk groups, 7 instructors, and 90 dancers came together at Manitoba’s Legislative Building to perform the Polonez. Featuring dancers from the Polish School of Dance "Sokół", The Sokol Polish Dance Ensemble and SPK Iskry.
Thank you to MLA Ron Schuler and Pan Marian Jaworski for hosting, and to all the instructors for creating this beautiful experience.
A special thank you to Pani Ania Wesołowska-Kulbińska for leading this project, and Pan Irek Lemans for capturing and compiling the video.
Wishing everyone a joyful International Dance Day!

Dzień Babci i Dziadka is here!
Thank you to our beloved grandparents for keeping our traditions alive, from the secret family pierogi recipe to stories from the “old country”.
You are the roots of our family tree!

We wish you good health as strong as the Polish highlanders and joy as bright as Łowicz embroidery! Sto lat 💖

Happy Winnie the Pooh Day! Did you know Winnie the Pooh got his name from Winnipeg? The beloved storybook character was inspired by a toy bear owned by A.A. Milne’s son, who named it after a Canadian bear he visited at the London Zoo.
During WWI, Canadian Lieutenant Harry Colebourn bought a bear cub in White River, Ontario, and named it Winnie after his adopted hometown of Winnipeg. While Colebourn served in France, Winnie stayed at the London Zoo, where she became a much-loved attraction. Winnie’s legacy lives on through the character that continues to delight readers!
