A huge thank you to our amazing CEM team!

It rained earlier in the day, but our volunteers still showed incredible dedication at ANCOP Walk 2026 in Assiniboine Park -- sharing free Recycle Everywhere bin bags and inspiring our community to recycle and care for the environment.

We’re deeply grateful to Recycle Everywhere for our continued partnership in promoting waste reduction and environmental stewardship.

Special thanks to Christopher C Clacio for leading this initiative, and to Hannika Jolee N. Vidal and Rizalina Cortez, for volunteering with such heart. Cheers to all! 👏👏👏

Trees help with our survival. 🌳
They benefit us by cleaning the air, making it cooler, preventing flood from happening, and many more.

But did you know how many trees are cut down every minute?

Caring for our Environment – Manitoba (CEM) is celebrating a huge milestone! 👏👏👏

After nearly a year of advocating for stronger recycling rules on City‑owned land -- including recycling at large outdoor community events -- CEM’s efforts have paid off.

On July 6, 2026, City Council approved recycling at events on City‑owned property as a Universal Service -- a big step toward waste reduction and environmental stewardship.

This strengthens CEM’s commitment to climate action and a more sustainable future for Winnipeg.

Thank you to Recycle Everywhere for being a steadfast partner, and thank you to our CEM board members and regular members whose continued support and commitment kept this advocacy moving forward.

The clean energy transition is here.

In 2024, global investment in clean energy hit a record $2 trillion.

That’s nearly double the amount spent on fossil fuels.

🌡Limiting global warming to 1.5°C has been the world's North Star for climate action. A critical benchmark against which policies are set and progress is measured.

So, what happens if we breach it?

The world and its forests have a fire problem.

Recent blazes forced hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate their homes across southwestern Europe, while wildfires in Canada burned forests and choked communities with smoke.

As fires worsen, they are becoming an increasingly prevalent driver of global forest loss.

But why are forest fires getting worse? What does climate change have to do with it? And what can we do to stop this trend? ➡️ https://go.wri.org/tcl-update-fb
