Today, Life's Journey gathered for our annual Orange Shirt Day event. Together, we took time to honour Survivors of Residential Schools, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the lasting impacts of this history on Indigenous individuals, families, and communities.
Throughout the day, we came together in ceremony, shared a communal feast, and listened to stories that were both powerful and deeply personal. We were honoured to hear Nookomis Debbie Cielen share the story of Phyllis Webstad, and to listen as staff, participants, and honoured guest speakers reflected on their own experiences and the ways residential schools have impacted their families.
The stories shared throughout the day were a reminder of why it is so important to listen, learn, and honour the experiences of Survivors and their families. These conversations help deepen our understanding and strengthen our commitment to reconciliation.
