Join our Two-Spirit Advisory Circle!

2Spirit Manitoba Inc. is looking for 10 individuals (age 12+) to make up our 2Spirit Advisory Circle for this year.

This leadership opportunity will come with the possibility for members to develop new skills, participate in trainings & networking opportunities, provide meaningful input into the work we do, and to contribute to important change in the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community

2S Advisory Circle (2SAC) responsibilities include:
-Attending quarterly meetings (online, in-person)
-Providing feedback and opinions on the activities within 2SMB
-Review and discuss internal and external policies
-Members should self-identify as Indigenous and 2SLGBTQQIA+
-Commit to privacy expectations and participation requirements
-Submit a character reference letter
-A current Vulnerable Sectors Check is an asset (and may be reimbursed)

2S Advisory Circle (2SAC) benefits include:
-Opportunities for training and skill development
-Opportunities for travel
-Honorarium for each meeting you attend
-Food (or meal gift card) for each meeting you attend
-Opportunities to plan fun activities for the community

Today is Bisexual Visibility Day!

Bisexual Visibility Day began in 1999 as "Celebrate Bisexuality Day".

Today is also known as Bisexual+ Visibility Day, which celebrates all of our bi+ relatives, including those who identify as pan-, omni-, fluid, q***r, etc.

Despite bisexual+ people making up the largest portion of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community, they still continue to face stigma, erasure, and biphobia.

Visibility matters, and today we honor the resilience, joy, and contributions of our bisexual+ relatives. 🩷💜💙

JOIN OUR YOUTH ADVISORY CIRCLE

2Spirit Manitoba is looking for Two-Spirit youth (12 to 30) to join our Youth Advisory Circle.

This leadership opportunity will come with opportunities for members to develop new skills, participate in trainings, network, provide meaningful input into the work we do, and to contribute to important changes.

We are currently seeking individuals who would be dedicated to attending seasonal meetings.

The responsibilities of a Youth Advisory Circle (YAC) member include:

-Attending all meetings (or providing feedback in lieu of attendance)
-Providing feedback and opinions on the ongoings within 2SMB
-Members should self-identify Indigenous and 2SLBGTQQIA+ and explain connection to community
-Commit to privacy expectations, participation, and act in the interest of community

Additional, fully funded opportunities may be available for YAC members. This includes roundtables, gatherings, and advocacy in government relations (with potential for travel).

All YAC members will receive honorariums and food for each meeting they attend.

Another Sundance is in the books! And it was a special sundance this year - we finished our first round and graduated our first 4th year dancers.

The weather was beautiful ☀️ the dancers were beautiful 💕 the helpers were beautiful🫂 everything was beautiful.

We have so much gratitude to the Sundance Cheifs, the Kookums who stood beside the Cheif's, the Cheif Helpers, The healers, The Drummers, the Firekeepers, The Kitchen, the Garbage Team, The Medicines Teams, The Parking team, The Runners, The Volunteer Leads, the Volunteers and Helpers, the Sundancers and supporters and staff at 2SMB. This amazing ceremony wouldn't be able to happen without every single one of you!

Congratulations to all the 4th years who completed their 4-year commitment and kinanâskomitin to everyone who helped make this a beautiful ceremony.

We're looking forward to next year already. Happy New Years everyone! 🥳
