All children within the Métis CFS System with citizenship ages 0–6 are automatically registered to receive Little Métis Boxes through the MMF Early Learning and Childcare Department.

These thoughtfully curated boxes are sent directly to our office, where Citizenship Liaison Officers (CLOs) coordinate delivery to children in care and families across our network.

Each box includes culturally grounded activities and early learning resources designed to support development while strengthening connection to Métis identity, culture, and community. By bringing these teachings into the home, the program helps nurture pride, belonging, and continuity of culture for Métis children from an early age.

Together, we are supporting strong beginnings rooted in culture, connection, and care.

This Thursday, on May 14th, the Métis CFS Authority encourages our children, youth, and families to support the Moose Hide Campaign.

The Métis Child and Family Services Authority stands alongside communities across Canada in raising awareness and taking a stand against gender-based and domestic violence.

Rooted in Indigenous teachings and ceremony, the Moose Hide Campaign calls on all to take responsibility in ending violence and supporting safe, respectful relationships.

We encourage reflection, learning, and action. Whether that means wearing a moose hide pin, starting conversations, or supporting those impacted by violence. Together, we can foster safer and healthier communities grounded in respect and care.

Happy Mother's Day 💐

Motherhood within our communities reflects deep-rooted connections to culture, kinship, and shared responsibility. Today, we recognize and celebrate the important role that mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and caregivers play in shaping strong and supported futures for the next generation.

We also take a moment to hold space for those who may experience this day differently, acknowledging all paths and experiences with care.

With gratitude and respect, we thank you for everything you give

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we recognize that mental health and wellness are deeply rooted in connection to culture, community, and identity. Supporting the well-being of Métis children, youth, and families means creating spaces where they feel seen and supported.

This month, we encourage open conversations and continued efforts to reduce stigma around mental health. Whether through open conversation, supports, or accessing services, every step toward healing and balance matters.

If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out to your support worker and know that you are not alone.

May 5 marks Red Dress Day. This is a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People.

This day serves as a call to remember, grieve, and act. Red dresses symbolize the presence of those who are no longer with us and the voices that must continue to be heard.

The Métis Child and Family Services Authority stands in solidarity with families, communities, and organizations across the homeland. We recognize the importance of culturally grounded systems of care, accountability, and advocacy in addressing the ongoing violence faced by Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.

We honour their lives by continuing to support change, amplify voices, and work toward a future where all are safe, valued, and protected.
