Thank you to all who joined us for our tour of the historic Post Road on Saturday! We were led by Conrad Stoesz as we toured Fort Dufferin, Edenburg, Neuanlage, Reinland, Waldheim, and Mountain City. It was a wonderful time of connecting with our historical roots and making new friends along the way.
The next tour of the Steinbach area (East Reserve) takes place June 27. For more info see www.mmhs.org.

MMHS EAST RESERVE HISTORICAL BUS TOUR – SATURDAY, JUNE 27

Join the Manitoba Mennonite Historical Society for a bus tour of the historic Mennonite East Reserve on Saturday, June 27th. The tour will be led by historian Ernie Braun, who will connect various historical sites to stories and history from the past. Stops will include the Shantz Cairn, Red River Cart, Niverville, lunch stop and tour of the Chortitz Heritage Church, Schoensee, Bergfeld.

Guests joining from Winnipeg depart from CMU at the North campus parking lot, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd at 8:30 am. Guests joining from Steinbach and area meet at the Mennonite Landing Site (on MB-200, near Glenlea) at 9:15 am. We will arrive back at the Landing Site by 3:30 pm, and CMU by 4:15 pm.

MMHS WEST RESERVE HISTORICAL BUS TOUR – SATURDAY, MAY 23
Join MMHS for an upcoming bus tour of the historic West Reserve led by Mennonite Heritage Archives’ archivist, Conrad Stoesz.
The tour will include various stops: Dufferin, Edenburg, Neuanlage, Neuhorst, Reinland (lunch here), Hochfeld, Osterwick, Waldheim, Mountain City. Each stop will include detailed accounts of local history that connect to the Mennonite story.
Tour participants may join the tour in Winnipeg or in Winkler.
– Departure from the Mennonite Heritage Archives in Winnipeg will be at 7:30am, and return by 5:15pm.
– Departure from Winkler at the Bergthaler Church at 9:15am, return at 3:30pm.
Cost: $50, includes lunch.

Discover the history behind the nearly 21,000 Mennonites that came to Canada in the 1920s. Join the Manitoba Mennonite Historical Society for "The Russlaender Migration", a new documentary film that explores the story of this mass migration, and the 100 years since.
On Saturday, April 25, the MMHS AGM meetings begin at 1:00 PM, and the film will follow at 3:00 PM. All are welcome to join.
Free admission, donations are appreciated.
