A big thank you to Canadian Veterans Manitoba and Supporters for once again showing their support for the R3VHC.

CVMS brings together veterans, serving military and RCMP members, along with members of the community, all with a shared goal of supporting veterans and giving back. That sense of community and looking out for one another is something we really value at R3VHC.

They have supported us for several years now, and we are incredibly grateful that they continue to believe in our program and the people who come through it.

Support like this helps us create a place where veterans, serving members, and first responders can get away from the everyday for a while, spend time with horses, learn something new, challenge themselves, and connect with people who understand.

To everyone at Canadian Veterans Manitoba and Supporters, thank you for continuing to be part of the R3VHC family. Your support, friendship, and commitment to the veteran community truly mean a lot to us.

As we look back on another incredible year at R3VHC, we want to recognize one of the organizations that helped make it all possible.

A huge thank you to Boeing for supporting our 2026 Veterans Horse Camps.

Because of support like this, we’re able to offer our camps at no cost to participants and give veterans a chance to get away from the everyday for a little while. It’s a place to spend time with horses, try something new, share a few laughs, challenge themselves, and, most importantly, connect with people who understand.

Boeing has a long history of supporting veterans and military families, and we’re incredibly grateful they chose to support what we’re doing here at R3VHC.

From our participants and volunteers to our instructors, our horses, and everyone behind the scenes, thank you, Boeing. Your support helped make another year at the ranch possible, and we’re truly grateful to have you as part of the R3VHC family.

R3VHC would like to thank the Canadian Legacy Project for being a key sponsor of the R3VHC Female Series. Without support from organizations like CLP we would not be able to provide our program to our female heroes.

CLP is focused on support and advocacy for Canadian Veterans by funding critical programs not fully covered by Veterans Affairs, empowering Veteran entrepreneurship, uplifting underserved female Veterans, and honouring our Veterans' service through public education.

And just like that, the Male Veterans Horse Camp has come to an end.

The gentlemen started their final morning with one last breakfast together at the homestead before heading out to the arena for some free riding.

And they definitely weren't going to leave without pushing themselves one more time.

With the staff watching from the sidelines, the guys decided it was time to find "third gear." One by one, they got their horses into a canter and made their way across the arena.

It was pretty incredible to watch. Just a few days ago, some of these guys were learning how to halter, groom, and lead a horse. Today they were cantering across the arena like they belonged there.

We could not be more proud of how much these gentlemen accomplished this week, but more than anything, we're grateful that they chose to spend it with us.

There were a lot of laughs, a few challenges, some great rides, and plenty of memories made along the way.

They may have packed their bags and headed home today, but they, and everyone who has come through this program before them, will always have a place here at R3VHC.

The horses will be here. The trails will be waiting. And there will always be a seat around the fire.

Until we ride again, gents.

After days of learning, practising, and building confidence with their horses, today they put it all together for their longest ride yet.

The group rode through the beautiful fall forests and open fields surrounding the ranch, experiencing from horseback a landscape that is pretty hard to beat this time of year. What began only a few days ago with learning how to halter and lead a horse has grown into riders confidently heading down the trail with their horses beneath them.

After returning to the ranch, the group settled in for lunch and had the privilege of being joined by an Elder from the local Indigenous community, who spent time with our participants and staff.

As evening arrived, the day ended the way some of the best days at the ranch do: gathered around the campfire. There was celebration, singing, laughter, and good company as everyone reflected on the week they have shared.

Tomorrow brings the final day of camp, but tonight was about enjoying how far these gentlemen have already come.

One more day. One more ride.

Day three of the Male Veterans Horse Camp at R3VHC was all about confidence.

The gentlemen spent the day building on the skills they learned yesterday, taking their horses through the confidence course and practising riding single file and side by side in the arena.

Then came another first.

For the first time this week, our riders left the arena behind and headed out on horseback for a short trail ride through the woods.

Just three days ago, these gentlemen were introduced to their horses and learning the basics of horsemanship. Today, they looked comfortable in the saddle, trusted their horses, and rode down the trail looking like naturals. We have to admit, they looked pretty cool doing it too.

All of us at R3VHC are incredibly proud of the progress being made. With every new challenge, we are watching confidence grow, partnerships develop, and four individuals become riders.

Tomorrow, the trail gets a little longer.

Today, the R3VHC team wears orange as we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

We honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the families and communities who continue to live with their lasting impacts.

Today is a day to listen, learn, reflect, and remember.

Day two started with an eager group ready to learn and ended with a pretty important milestone: their first ride.

The morning was spent learning the fundamentals of saddling and unsaddling, along with safely mounting and dismounting their horses. Each lesson built on what they learned yesterday and brought them one step closer to the moment they had all been waiting for.

That moment came in the afternoon when the gentlemen mounted their horses and began riding for the first time. With guidance from our instructors, they practised stopping, backing up, and turning, putting their new skills to work from the saddle.

They started the day eager to learn, and it showed. They listened, asked questions, challenged themselves, and did a fantastic job learning and practising each new skill.

Yesterday was about meeting their horses and taking those first steps together. Today, they climbed into the saddle.

Day two is in the books, and the journey continues tomorrow.

A new week and a new group of participants have arrived at R3VHC.

Today marked the first day of our Male Veterans Horse Camp, and it started where every journey here begins: with the basics.

The men learned how to halter, groom, and lead a horse, along with some of the everyday work that comes with horsemanship, including cleaning and caring for tack.

Most importantly, today was the day each participant was introduced to the horse that will be their partner for their time here.

For some, everything they learned today was completely new. But that is what this week is about. Learning, building confidence, challenging yourself, and discovering just how much can happen when you put a little trust in the horse standing beside you.

Today was about introductions and first steps.

Tomorrow, we build from here.

Welcome to R3VHC, gentlemen.

And just like that, the final day of the Female Red Rose Ranch Veterans Horse Camp has come to an end.

The weather may not have cooperated, but these ladies certainly didn't let it slow them down. They climbed into the saddle and spent their final day showing just how far they've come, putting together everything they learned over the past week.

From those first introductions to their horses, through the confidence course, arena, and trails, we have had the privilege of watching each participant learn, grow, challenge herself, and build a partnership with her horse.

We are honoured that these incredible women chose to spend this week with us and allowed the R3VHC team to introduce them to a lifestyle that means so much to all of us.

Today may have been their last ride of camp, but we hope it is far from their last ride.

Wherever the trail takes them from here, there will always be a place for them at Red Rose Ranch Veterans Horse Camp, and we look forward to the day when our paths cross again.

Special acknowledgement to Canadian Legacy Project, a founding partner and key supporter of the R3VHC female program. Without their support, programs like this would not be possible.

Until we ride again.
