OVER 900 POUNDS OF FOOD. 🥫🩵

We officially wrapped up our Unity Project Food Drive, and once again, this community blew us away.

Every can. Every box. Every bag. It all added up.

From everyone who donated, shared our posts, filled our donation bins, helped spread the word, or helped collect, load, and deliver it all, thank you. This does not happen without people choosing to show up for one another.

All of the food collected was donated to Harvest Manitoba 🌟🌾 , helping support individuals and families right here in our community. A huge thank you to their team for the incredible work they continue to do across our city.

This drive was a reminder that even the smallest contribution can become something much bigger when a community comes together.

Winnipeg, you continue to show us what community is all about. The generosity, the kindness, and the willingness to look out for one another. 🩵

Until the next one. 🤝

Earlier this winter we wrapped up our Winter Clothing Drive and once again this community blew us away. ❄️

Countless bags of winter jackets, boots, and warm layers. Somehow every time we do this, it’s MORE.

From donation bins across the city to volunteers helping lift, load, coordinate, and deliver, this came together because people showed up.

2 pickup trucks. 2 SUVs. Filled to the brim. Delivered just in time for the cold.

To everyone who donated, shared, dropped something off, carried bags, or supported behind the scenes, thank you. Truly.

Winnipeg, this is Friendly Manitoba. The generosity. The kindness. The way this city comes together when it matters most. 🩵🔥

We are so, so grateful.

One Week In — Thank You, Winnipeg

We’re one week into our clothing drive, and we just want to take a moment to say thank you. The support, kindness, and generosity we’ve seen so far has been truly overwhelming.

To everyone who has donated, shared our posts, or reached out by email to arrange pickups — thank you. Your willingness to help, especially during this extreme cold, is making a real difference for people who need it most right now.

Winnipeg winters are unforgiving, but this community continues to show up with warmth, compassion, and action. Every coat, pair of gloves, and warm layer matters more than ever.

We’re still collecting, and if you’re able to contribute or know someone who can, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we’re showing what community care looks like.

Thank you for standing with us and with our most vulnerable neighbours. 🤍

With below zero temperatures already here, it's only going to get colder as winter comes.
There are many people who are homeless and in need of winter clothes to survive the cold Manitoban winters. According to Almanac.com, this year's winter will be colder than previous years, with the coldest periods starting mid-November and going till late February.
In May 24 of 2022, End homelessness Winnipeg surveyed 1256 people experiencing homelessness.
Of those surveyed:
- 60% were from the foster care system.
- 68% identify as indigenous.
- 18 was the most common age people became homeless.
As Shelters capacities cannot accommodate everyone on the streets, the consensus shows that 90% of the homeless population often stay in unsheltered locations. With that said, many of these people are in need of winter jackets, gloves, socks, blankets and much more to survive our cold Manitoban winters.
As part of the community, it is important that we try to help as many people stay warm during these tough times. We must all do our part and help in any which way we can. In the next post we will post what we will be doing to help those in need.

Today is the national day for Truth and Reconciliation, previously known as orange shirt day. On this day we recognize the harsh realities of the residential school system and honor the individuals and indigenous communities that have lost their culture and loved ones in this system.

Orange shirt day originates from 2013 when Phyllis Webstad, a 3rd generation student of The St Joseph Mission residential school told the story of her first day at school where her bright orange shirt given by her grandmother was taken away. Since then we wear orange on this day to represent hope and the ongoing healing of indigenous families.

Reconciliation happens when everyone participates so if you are able, we encourage you to wear an orange shirt and take a moment in rememberance of the indigenous children impacted and lost to the residential schools from 1834-1996.
