•Remember the children and Survivors of residential schools
•Reflect on the history and ongoing legacy of residential schools
•Learn: take time to listen, read, and learn from Indigenous voices
•Gather: attend a local event or community commemoration
•Support: purchase an Orange Shirt from an Indigenous creator or business that gives back to Indigenous communities

As fall approaches, we wanted to share some of the fun our staff and participants got up to this summer! From snake den, bee farm, and zoo visits, attending pow wows and Sundance, camping, fishing, medicine and berry picking, horse therapy, opening a new house, and much more — it was a summer full of great memories! 💚

On this day, we honoured a bison who will gift our participants and their families with nourishing food for months to come.

The bison helps us understand a fundamental teaching of respect—one that grounds us in a guiding principle for how we interact with others, carry out our daily work, and live a good life. The ways we show respect demonstrate how we care for one another and recognize that everyone is deserving of support, dignity, and compassion.

This is food sovereignty in action — caring for our community while honouring the land, the animal, and the teachings it carries.
