Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is embarking on a review of the Ozone-depleting Substances and Halocarbons Alternatives Regulations. They are looking for stakeholder input on four key issues: HFC phase-down, product control, new uses for HFCs and administrative burden and other issues. As an industry association, MOPIA is responsible for educating its stakeholders on the harmful health impacts of the products they use, including PFAS chemicals. After board approved staff attended the 2023 ATMOsphere America Summit on Natural Refrigerants in Washington, we now have a better understanding of PFAS chemicals. We are currently working on a PFAS bulletin to help inform industry and the general public.
