โ๏ธ Legal Awareness: Immigration Fraud in Canada โ๏ธ
Did you know that fraud or misrepresentation in your immigration or citizenship process can cost you your status in Canada?
๐ Citizenship Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-29
s. 10(1): โThe Minister may revoke a personโs citizenship if the person has obtained, retained, renounced or resumed citizenship by false representation, fraud, or by knowingly concealing material circumstances.โ
๐ Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), S.C. 2001, c. 27
s. 40(1): A permanent resident or foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation, including withholding material facts.
s. 40(2): Misrepresentation carries a five-year ban on applying for permanent residence.
s. 46(1): A person ceases to be a permanent resident if a removal order made against them comes into force.
