It offers group activities, meaningful social interaction, and community partnerships.

A police clearance is needed, and we can help with that! So don't let that be a roadblock to you helping

▶️ St. Alphonsus Cares ◀️

Did you hear? Moms & Tots is starting at St. Alphonsus on Tuesday, September 8th from 9:30am to 11:00am. If you know of moms/dads/ guardians with a tot, then encourage them to join us!

The Social- a new partnership with the Alzheimer's Society is also underway. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to be part of some training to help establish and run this new endeavour. Contact Sr. Connie if you are interested.

Our Community Meals start up again Friday September 11th. 5:00pm to 6:00pm and doors open at 4:00pm.

Stay tuned for more programs and the return of some favourites.

▶️ Assumption Cares ◀️

Time is ticking, We are seeking donations of school supplies and new or gently used back packs for children in need heading to school in September.

Fit for All with Donna will be returning from summer break August 27th

Tai Chi with Mr. Ha will be on vacation until September 8th

Community Meals are on a short hold due to reorganization as we will be taking over preparation of the food.

If you or someone you know is in need of free produce or children's clothing:
Forgotten Harvest produce distribution takes place on Friday mornings from 8:00am until 11:00am or until supplies run out.

Cuddles Clothing for Kids program takes place on Friday mornings from 9am till noon. *Please bring your own bag for both

❓️ I've noticed when I go to Mass in the US the readings are slightly different. Why?

⛪ Any translation from one language to another involves some level of interpretation. Keep in mind that the scriptures were written in foreign languages 2000-3000 years ago. There are many English translations, some are approved for use by Catholics. For liturgical purposes, the Canadian bishops have approved New Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition (NRSV-CE). The US bishops approved the New American Bible Revised Edition (NAMRE) For use at liturgy. There are some minor variations in translation; that's why you notice differences in the Canadian and US readings.
