🎉 WE ARE 3! Celebrating 3 Years as a Registered Non-Profit! 🎉

Three years of connection. Three years of compassion. Three years of growing together!

Today, we’re celebrating this important milestone and taking a moment to say THANK YOU to our amazing supporters, dedicated volunteers, community partners, and everyone who has been part of our journey.

Your encouragement, time, generosity, and belief in our vision help us continue the important work of building relationships, opening conversations, and strengthening support throughout the West Hants community.

Together, we are working toward a future where End-of-Life support, Palliative Care, grief support, and compassionate conversations are more accessible to everyone in our community.

And we have so much to celebrate as we look ahead!

Our journey toward charitable status: We have submitted a strong application to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for charitable status, an exciting step forward as we continue to develop and grow our work in the community.

A meaningful partnership: We are delighted to be partnering with Bereaved Families of Nova Scotia as we launch our Support and Share Group on October 15, 2026. This is an important step in creating opportunities for connection, understanding, and support for those navigating grief and loss.

Connecting with our wider community: We are excited to be attending the 2026 Again Your Way Expo in Halifax on October 17, 2026! We look forward to connecting with others, sharing our vision, building relationships, and continuing conversations about the importance of End-of-Life support and Palliative Care.

Every conversation matters. Every connection makes a difference. Every volunteer and supporter helps us move forward.

As we celebrate our first three years, we are filled with gratitude for how far we have come and hope for all that lies ahead. Our work is rooted in compassion, community, and the belief that no one should have to navigate life's most difficult moments without support.

Thank you for being part of our story, for believing in what we are building, and for helping us grow together.

Here's to three years of making connections, creating conversations, and building a more compassionate West Hants community — and to many more years ahead!

Are you passionate about supporting others through grief?
Bereaved Families of Nova Scotia is seeking compassionate volunteers to become peer support group facilitators. If you have personal experience with loss, facilitation skills, and a heart for helping others, we want to hear from you!

We are actively looking for facilitators across Nova Scotia, with an immediate need in:
📍 Antigonish | Bridgewater | Halifax (HRM) | New Glasgow | Sydney | Truro | West Hants | Wolfville | Yarmouth.

This is a meaningful and rewarding opportunity to guide and support individuals on their healing journey.

Registration is open again for our next round of Grief Notes: Virtual Grief Groups for Children & Youth. These 8-week virtual grief groups are for children and youth ages 7-18 in NS, NB, and PEI who have experienced the death of a significant person.

October 2026-May 2027.

The Hospice Society of West Hants is a non-profit dedicated to building a hospice facility in West Hants, Nova Scotia and supporting individuals and families through compassionate end-of-life care, education and community programs.
