Are y’all ready for tomorrow?!

Here’s some final pointers to make the Trans March a success:

- The weather will be hot! With the humidity, it will feel like 34°C. There is also a chance of rain! Dress accordingly, bring sunscreen or a raincoat and a reusable water bottle! We have some sunscreen and lots of water available as back-up.

- Bring friends, signs, noisemakers, and your voice! The louder and more visible our crowd, the more effectively we can demonstrate our strength and dedication to our shared cause.

- Keep an eye on our social media and emails. If there are any last-minute announcements, we will share them ASAP!

Hi folks! As you might know, our local public school board, the Greater Essex County District School Board, is in the early stages of an election for trustees.
As it stands, most of the candidates who applied to run in this election will be automatically acclaimed (and win the seat they are running for) on Friday at 2 p.m., as nobody else has registered to run against them.

One individual on this list, Beth St. Denis, is a known member of the Christian Heritage Party and has frequently returned to GECDSB meetings as a delegate speaker to espouse her and the CHP's fascistic and deeply q***rphobic beliefs. As a trustee to the GECDSB, St. Denis would gain enormous power to harm the school board's many q***r and trans students.
I am imploring anyone who may be interested in running for trustee to register before Friday at 2 p.m. We must do everything in our power to prevent people like Beth St. Denis from taking this seat and gaining the power to directly harm vulnerable q***r and trans students. Importantly, anyone living in Windsor can run for trustee in any ward -- it does not need to be the one you live in.

The 2026 Trans March is just over 2 weeks away!! We are so excited to gather and take the streets together on August 30th. In preparation for the march, please take a moment to read our safety and accessibility information.

🏳️‍⚧️ Accessibility & Safety Info 🏳️‍⚧️

• The event will begin with speeches where there is minimal seating
• The route will take approx. 30-45 minutes to walk
• Folks with mobility difficulties are invited to lead the march to set an accessible pace for all
• Folks who do not wish to march are invited to cover around the flag at Ouellette & Riverside with positive messaging using the chalk provided

• Water & light snacks will be available at the flag and while marching
• Please keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly
• Masks are highly encouraged - both for reducing the spread of communicable diseases and for identity protection (for those who do not wish to be identified)
• Safety marshals will be present throughout the event
