A very heartfelt thank you goes out to all the lovely people who made this year‘s vigil a success!

Thank you very much to for his beautiful performance! His artistry really elevated the whole event, creating a serene and soulful ambience. Thank you as well to our trustworthy team of marshals, who helped ensure a safe and smooth-run event, and to everyone who contributed refreshments. 💕

Most of all, we are so grateful to our wonderful community who came out and supported this important event. The vigil was especially well-attended, and I’m sure others agree when I say that we really felt the love and solidarity of our community at the vigil 🤍

I look forward to connecting with you all again soon!

Following recent events in Windsor's pride community, it is more important than ever to demonstrate genuine solidarity with local trans communities.

Join us this Sunday at this year's Trans Day of Remembrance vigil. The focus of this event is sombre reflection on the many souls we have lost to transphobic violence. There will be snacks, hot drinks, masks, and, of course, a community space for connection and processing of collective grief.

Please see below for our statement on WEPride Fest President Wendi Nicholson's abhorrent messages on AM800 today.

Statement transcript:
On November 11th, 2025, Wendi Nicholson, the president of Windsor-Essex Pride Fest, participated in an interview with the radio station AM800 on the topic of inclusion of transgender people (predominantly transgender women) in sports. This follows the International Olympics Committee’s consideration of a ban on women with “male testosterone levels” from participating on women’s sports teams. It is needless to say that this will affect both cisgender and transgender women alike, but greatly targets transgender women’s participation in particular.

Wendi openly and unapologetically vilified transgender athletes - and by extension, all transgender people - echoing similar sentiments to those we are hearing globally. Her commentary was dangerously and grossly ill-informed, trans-exclusionary, and transmisogynistic. These ideas about trans people are along the line wherein transphobia becomes normalized, and right-wing ideology is given permission to attempt to erase us from society at large.

The Alliance for Trans Youth will not stand for complicity in the policing of trans bodies, lives, spaces, and autonomy in any regard, let alone by someone with as large of a presence in the community as Nicholson has.

We have read the response to these comments from the Board of Directors at Windsor-Essex Pride Fest, and we acknowledge the responsibility they have taken. Furthermore, we as the Alliance for Trans Youth demand Wendi Nicholson publicly rebuke her statement, further act in accordance with the allyship claimed by the Board of Directors in their statement, and step down from her position as president entirely.

Actions taken by WEPride Fest in the coming days will be indicative of their commitment to being safe and affirming organization for the trans community in Windsor. The Alliance for Trans Youth continues to closely monitor this situation, and remains deeply dedicated to the struggle for the liberation of transgender people and athletes.

Hi there everyone! As the cold weather comes in and the festive season is coming up soon, we wanted to start up another zine! This theme will be "Q***ring the Holidays", where a collection of different forms of media will demonstrate how we as q***r and trans people show care for and celebrate the people and things we love during the many festive seasons of the year.

When considering what to submit to this zine, please make sure it fits the theme and is appropriate for all ages. If you have any questions about what may be appropriate, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask!

The final product will be put together by our organizer Scott (he/him) after all media has been submitted on December 6th and will (hopefully) be completed and ready to distribute digitally by Christmas Day (December 25th). Any delays will be announced accordingly.

🌟 TRANS MARCH 2025 🌟

Nearly a week later, and we are still absolutely blown away at the incredible success that this event was! 💖

Infinite gratitude is owed to our tirelessly loyal team of volunteers, who truly went above and beyond to ensure a well-run and safe event. 💕

As well, we are extremely thankful for our kind and dedicated base of support here in Windsor. The Alliance for Trans Youth could not have continued not only to exist, but to thrive, for as long as it has without your endless support and solidarity.

With your help, we raised money to support Trans Wellness Ontario and Q***r Trans Project, vital organizations relying on donations like ours to continue connecting transgender individuals and youth to the life-saving care and safety they deserve. 💕

We truly cannot wait to see you all again at our future events. Updates and information will continue to be shared here as they arise! Until then, thank you for your endless dedication and solidarity. 💖

TWO DAYS AWAY!!
We are so excited for the Trans March happening this Sunday!

In line with the messaging driving this year's march, we are asking for donations to be given to ***rtransproject. This Florida-based non-profit is actively filling gaps in gender-affirming care by providing free gender-affirming gear and support with transportation to transition-related surgeries to folks in the USA.

A donation jar will be available for cash donations at the march, as well as handouts of the attached postcard. Use the QR code to donate directly to the Q***r Trans Project (or the link in our bio)
