COMMUNITY UPDATE: WE’RE BACK, STRONGER & BETTER

Dear Family,
After taking time to reflect, restructure, and plan intentionally, we’re excited to announce that the African Village Africain (AVA) Community Platform is officially back: stronger, more organized, and driven by purpose.
This new chapter is all about building a sustainable, supportive, and self-governed community that truly works for all of us.

What’s Changing?
We’re introducing a Community Membership Model:
• $20/month per member
• Annual option available

What This Means for You
This isn’t just a fee: it’s your contribution to a shared support system designed to benefit everyone.

Community Access & Operations
• Use of the community space
• Access to meetings, programs, and events

Community Support Fund ($10 monthly contribution)
• Emergency support for members
• Small business & idea support
• Celebrations (birthdays, milestones, etc.)

Community Self-Insurance (Including Funeral Support)
• Financial support during difficult times
• Funeral assistance
• Support amounts decided collectively by members

The goal is simple: no one stands alone

Transparency & Leadership
We will set up a Community Self-Government Body to:
• Manage funds and decisions
• Share monthly financial reports
• Ensure transparency and accountability
This is about trust, ownership, and shared responsibility.
