It seems like, in the blink of an eye, nine years of Lola’s Pajama Fairy magic has gone by. Most of you know that this Project began with a short story to our granddaughter, Lola, and a family tradition of giving warm, cozy pajamas at Christmas. With the help and generosity of countless people throughout Essex County, Windsor and beyond, thousands of families were able to enjoy a warmer and cozier holiday season. Last December we wrote about the number of “pajama fairies”, drop off locations, people who donated, and others who connected with this Project in so many ways. Lola’s Pajama Fairy Project could not have existed without you.
Having said that, it is with heavy hearts that we are making 2025 our last year for this Project. It was not an easy decision to make, and we did not make it lightly, but it is time. So for all of you who were so helpful or benefitted in some way from this Project, a huge THANK YOU! We hope that you continue to have WARM and COZY NIGHTS and SWEET DREAMS. Thank you!

WOW! Nine years of Lola’s Pajama Fairy Project has gone by in the blink of an eye. What began as a small project of collecting warm and cozy pajamas for those in need expanded beyond what we could have ever hoped for.
Our first year we had around 200 pairs of pajamas generously donated and given out to families in need over the holidays. In the years following, we saw people donate thousands of pairs of pajamas, slippers, scarves and mittens. This year we had over 1500 donations brought to us!
At first, the donations were mainly from friends and families. But then, we began to get donations from generous community groups….from schools, sports teams, businesses, labour unions, Legions and more. However the majority of donations came from individuals who saw a need in the Windsor/Essex community and decided to help out in their own way. And over the years you have helped out in a huge way! As have all of our “drop off” locations throughout Windsor and Essex County. Just the act of having space and friendly people to take in all of the donations was so helpful.
Fortunately for us, all of the collecting, sorting, organizing and delivering the thousands of pajamas is done by a team of “Pajama Fairies”. On their own time these people generously came together (often bringing in their own donations) to help with this part of the Project. Thank you!
Giving the pajamas out to those with the greatest need has always been bittersweet. It is so joyful bringing in everything that you have donated to help others, to see how grateful people and organizations are, but at the same time sad to see how many people there are in our community with so little. We were reminded again this year when dropping donations off to the food banks in Leamington, Essex, Windsor and Lasalle, how many families and individuals are struggling to get through each day. There were many tears shed between our team and those community groups. Tears of joy and tears of sadness as well.
So to wrap up this year, 2025, Lola’s Pajama Fairy Project wants to thank each and every one of you for caring about the needs of others. Whether you know it or not, YOU have made a difference in the lives of others.

We have bags and bags of pajamas getting delivered to local charities and organizations this week! We are so excited to get to work with such wonderful people. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We have our final event of the year tomorrow which is our Leamington Flyers Pajama Toss game! Hope to see you there, and then we will count our final number of pajamas donated this year.

We can’t wait for the moment that the 1st goal goes into the net followed by the magic of Pajamas raining down on the ice. So exciting🧚🏒

Join us this upcoming Thursday night for a special Pajama Toss Game as the Leamington Flyers take on the Burlington Cougars at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new pair of pajamas (baby, kids, or adult sizing), sealed in a bag. Following the Flyers first goal, toss your pajamas onto the ice and help make a difference in our community.

All donated pajamas will support Lola’s Pajama Fairy Project, helping bring comfort to those in need.

1000 Pajamas! Our count is starting off strong and we're excited for our Leamington Flyers game coming up on December 11th. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, helped, counted, and shared our story so we can give back to the Windsor-Essex Community.
