Yesterday, we had the opportunity to take part in a roundtable meeting with Fouzia Younis, British Consul General in Toronto!

Organized by our friends at Invest WindsorEssex, the discussion brought together regional leaders to explore Windsor-Essex’s economic and workforce trends, along with opportunities for trade, growth and future collaboration.

It was great to connect with representatives from the University of Windsor, St. Clair College , WEtech Alliance , City of Windsor - Municipal Government , Windsor Essex Chamber of Commerce

Windsor-Essex’s labour market softened in July 2026, with total job postings declining for a second consecutive month after a steady stretch earlier in the year.

Even so, the region remains ahead of where it was a year ago, underscoring continued employer demand across key sectors such as Retail Trade; Manufacturing; Health Care and Social Assistance; and Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting.

This month’s data also reveals a notable seasonal lift in Agriculture-related hiring, alongside ongoing demand for skilled trades and health care support roles, offering jobseekers a useful snapshot of where opportunities are emerging across the region.
