Knobby's Kids Hockey leadership team is honoured by our program receiving the Hometown Heroes award from the Belle River Junior Canadiens / BRDMHA organization in recognition of outstanding contributions to our local association.
We would like to share this award with the Windsor-Essex County community (individuals & businesses), our kids in the program, the parents who brave the cold every Saturday morning at the Lanspeary outdoor rink and our outstanding volunteers. Without all of these coming together, we would not have a successful program, ensuring that all kids in our community get a chance to play the great game of hockey.

Today was a great morning at the rink. Our volunteers were extra busy supporting the excitement of the morning.
At check-in each player received their team picture and players with perfect attendance received a certificate acknowledging their commitment to sport and a Knobby’s Kids Hockey pen and notebook. Parents of the players who achieved perfect attendance were acknowledged for their dedication to supporting their children.
With extended skate times, the coaches kept the excitement going with games played with coaches stepping into goalie positions.
At rink side our volunteers were busy cooking up endless hot dogs, and serving snacks and beverages.
After equipment return, each player received a special hockey display which included their own personalized hockey card and additional cards to share with family and friends.
Our volunteers are rewarded with so many kind words from our players and their family members. In addition, today and during the season we are always surprised by generous donations to support our program…today we also received an amazing package of homemade cookies from a wonderful family.

No highlight reel this week, but a professional videographer was busy recording all the excitement of the morning for a special video for our website…stay tuned.

Thank you to our volunteers, players, families, parters and sponsors for making this a great season.

As our season is coming to a close, we want to again acknowledge the amazing support in our community for our Family Day Celebration.
Suzanne & Todd Lauzon of DEKLYN HOME SERVICES stepped up again and donated 24 NHL hockey jerseys for our players.
Each player was able to enter a free raffle for their favourite team. Look at the smiling faces!
