Tiny Paws Rabbit Rescue

Tiny Paws Rabbit Rescue Tiny Paws is a volunteer run rescue and sanctuary which provides loving forever homes for rabbits Tiny Paws Rabbit Rescue is a Canadian Registered Charity.
(1)

We are a Foster Based Rabbit Rescue located in Windsor On, Canada. Our mission is to rescue domestic rabbits who are stray, abandoned, injured, abused, surrendered or otherwise needing care and attention from human assistance until they can be placed in suitable adoptive homes. Those who are deemed unadoptable due to medical needs are given sanctuary status and live out their lives in the rescue.

Our "Rabbit Wrangler" Volunteers are a dedicated group of individuals that assist to help capture stray and abandoned domestic rabbits. A stray rabbit is always in need of rescuing as they do not have the instincts to survive in the wild. We do not have a physical shelter and we rely on foster homes to help us rescue rabbits in need. We believe education is the key in the adoption process. We want our animals to be loved for their entire life throughout any lifetime changes which may occur. All adopters will fill out a questionnaire and go through an interview process to find the best match for our animals. We are always in need of foster homes, volunteers and sponsors to help us continue our mission to help domestic rabbits in need. Registered Canadian Charity

The Blind Babies, Winx and Blinx saw Dr. Kate and veterinary student, Rio, today for check ups.

As you can see Winx's head tilt is worse. We know that she is EC positive and has flare ups every so often. Luckily she doesn't really roll- she's more of a weeble wobble and looks like a duck when she walks. Sometimes she will get knocked over onto her side by her energetic sister, Blinx. But she really isn't bothered by her mobility issues.

Both girls are dental buns, so they were in today for dental exams. In the last few weeks, Miss Blinx has had several bouts of GI Stasis and is very sensitive to dental changes. Dr. Kate noticed a small spike on one of her molars. So, we have scheduled her for a molar trim next Tuesday.

Winxy's teeth looked pretty good so we will wait until she's feeling better after her E. Cuniculi treatment.

A Happy Tales Update!!

In April 2025, Cora and her sister Gemma were found in the park near my house. Luckily we were able to safely catch them as they were oblivious to the dangers that surrounded them. It is an area where a lot of dogs run off leash, as well as coyotes and foxes. We worked quickly to rescue them.

I fostered the girls until they could be transferred to a permanent foster, but I soon found out they were not actually bonded. Being Lops, both girls were adopted soon after their spays and medical treatments.

Cora was adopted to bond to an adorable Lionhead boy named Ben and they bonded instantly!

Thank you to their Mom for the update and adorable photos of the happy couple, Cora and Ben 🥰

Turn your sound up for the cutest crunches from, Miso!
It's hard to believe this adorable bunno is STILL looking for his forever home. 🥺
Even though foster Mom is happy to be his treat dealer, Miso would love a family of his own.

Check out our adoption information on our website. You'll find our fees, requirements, rabbit care guide and application to adopt.

I've had many people say they didn't want to adopt a rabbit with red eyes 😒.
I personally love rabbits with gorgeous ruby eyes, and have been a Mom for several over the years.😍.

“I’m scared of bunnies with red eyes.” Grow up.

We rescue tons of bunnies with bright red eyes. Sadly, people are often freaked out by these ruby eyes, as it makes them appear “scary”.

But we at know that this just means they’re extra special, so wanted to share some facts about Red Eyed Whites or REWs:

1. Their eyes are red because they’re albino - though only pure white rabbits can be considered albino!

2. This started as a genetic mutation but then quickly some breeders began to breed them exclusively since they’re often the healthiest bunnies.

3. Since they are albino and/or lack melanin (so light bounces off their red blood cells) they’re extra sensitive to the sun. They get sunburned easier and direct sunlight hurts their eyes!

4. Albino rabbits have fewer rods in their eyes than other rabbits, so they scan things extra due to having a slightly slower processing time.

5. When they’re calm, their eyes turn lilac. They become bright red when stressed or excited - whenever their blood pressure is raised.

6. Many REW breeds were designed for industrial, or meat, use which means that they’re often larger than your “typical” rabbit and more docile.

Please share this post. Our hope is to break down the stigma around ruby eyed bunnies, so people will not preemptively see them as “scary”, but as absolutely fantastic!

They truly see the world through rose tinted lenses.

A huge thank you to for hosting an Easter Bake Sale with the proceeds/donations going towards the rabbits in our care.

They are a newer student-led organization with a love for all animals, but have a soft spot for rabbits. 🐰
They raised an amazing total of $169 from their baked goodies sales 👏🏼
