WindsorEssex Community Foundation Building a better Windsor-Essex for today and forever!

We support donor desires for long-term impact while funding creative initiatives that will leave a lasting impact. Founded in 1983 as Heritage Windsor, later renamed the Greater Windsor Community Foundation, today we are known as the WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF). The WECF is dedicated to making our community an even better place to live, work, learn and grow by strategically connecting donors to community needs and opportunities. We help build a vibrant, healthy community by providing grants to various sectors of the community from health & human services, education, and arts & culture to community development, the environment, and children & youth. We also lead a variety of community initiatives including Random Act of Kindness Day, the Vital Signs program, the Young Philanthropists, the Vitality Legacy Program, and the Biennial Community Cup Pro-Am Golf Tournament.

We were pleased to welcome community leaders, partners, organizations, and residents from across Windsor-Essex as we shared this year's findings and explored the issues, opportunities, and trends shaping our region.

Through a 2025 Inspiration 100™ Grant, the Windsor Residence for Young Men (WRYM) provided safe housing and individualized supports to 16 youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Windsor-Essex.

The program delivered more than 1,100 bed days of housing and support, helping participants work toward goals related to education, employment, mental health, and independent living. As a result, six young men successfully transitioned to independent living, while others reconnected with family supports or moved into appropriate community programs.

"The funding provided through the Inspiration 100™ Endowment Fund has made a tangible difference in the lives of young men experiencing homelessness in Windsor-Essex."

We are proud to support organizations like WRYM that are helping young people build stability, confidence, and brighter futures.

This annual scholarship supports female hockey players who are pursuing post-secondary education while demonstrating academic achievement, community involvement, and a commitment to the sport they love.

If you're participating in this year's Hocktoberfest Female Hockey Tournament and meet the eligibility requirements, be sure to submit your application before the deadline.

Established to provide financial support to students graduating from a secondary school in Essex County, this scholarship aids students pursuing a post-secondary degree in either an Accounting or Financial discipline at either St. Clair College or the University of Windsor. This scholarship is to be credited to the successful recipient’s account to support their Winter semester tuition. 📚

Stephanie is inspired by the opportunity to see our community through many perspectives, from the generosity of our partners in philanthropy to the dedication of local organizations and the experiences of those whose lives are impacted along the way.
