Unity Hopeful Charity Unity Hopeful is dedicated to helping migrant workers with food and clothing.

Unity Hopeful was founded in 2011, our organization has a long history of assisting and helping newly arrived temporary foreign workers with food, clothing and community support. We have seen over the years that it is often difficult when these hard-working men and women arrive to Ontario, missing proper clothing and not realizing the cost of living. Unity Hopeful assists these workers to have a positive and comfortable transition to their new temporary home.

Unity Hopeful Organization Celebrates 60 Years of Migrant Workers in Canada
On September 6, 2026, Unity Hopeful Organization proudly celebrated 60 years of migrant workers coming to Canada through the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP).

More than 90 workers, families, community members, and supporters came together for a special evening of celebration, remembrance, and appreciation. The event was dedicated to honoring the many migrant workers whose commitment and hard work have contributed so much to Canada over the past six decades.

A special highlight of the evening was the recognition of workers who have participated in the SAWP program for 20 years or more. Their years of dedication, sacrifice, and contribution were acknowledged with great appreciation and respect.

We were blessed to have the Mayor of Kingsville in attendance. The Mayor addressed the workers and shared words of appreciation for their important contributions to the community and to the agricultural sector.

We were also honored to have Irek Kusmierczyk from the Teamwork Project join us and address the workers. His presence and words of encouragement added special meaning to the celebration.

The evening was filled with culture, fellowship, and delicious food. A cultural meal was served, and every worker received a gift bag and care package as a small token of appreciation for their dedication and contribution.

The celebration was also an opportunity to take a journey down memory lane, back to 1966, when the first group of 254 migrant workers arrived at Pearson International Airport, ready to work and begin a new chapter in the history of migrant workers in Canada.

Sixty years later, their legacy continues through the thousands of workers who have followed in their footsteps.

Unity Hopeful Organization extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this celebration possible—the workers, organizers, volunteers, community leaders, supporters, and everyone who contributed their time, resources, and love.

To all the migrant workers, past and present, we honor you, celebrate you, and thank you for your hard work and sacrifices.

Much blessings to all, and one love to everyone.

Unity Hopeful Oganization was present on August 14 2026 at the Dresden Health Fair put on by the Chatham Health Centre, we gave out 130 groceries bags which include vegetables ,snacks, and food items we were happy to be among other Oganization in attendance .
