Remembering Andrew Nuttall
Andrew Nuttall was born and raised in British Columbia, where he developed a strong love for family, sports, and the outdoors. At age 27, he enlisted with the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in 2007, beginning a military career built on service and leadership.
Shortly after joining, Lieutenant Nuttall deployed to Afghanistan, where fellow soldiers remembered him for encouraging others and helping maintain morale during challenging operations. His leadership and commitment left a lasting impression on comrades serving alongside him during Canada’s mission overseas.
On December 23, 2009, Lieutenant Nuttall lost his life while on patrol in Kandahar City. Today, we remember his service, leadership, and sacrifice, and honour the legacy he left behind through those who served with him.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Gulf War—a time to honour those who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Across land, sea and air, more than 4,000 Canadians served in the Persian Gulf region from 1990-1991.

They were part of a global coalition that came together to defend freedom and restore peace after Iraq invaded Kuwait.

Follow along as we share the stories and experiences of Veterans who served in this important piece of our history.
