We are so happy to share this wonderful post on behalf of NSITEN and all the work we do with many of our meaningful ally partnerships we have been able to build over the years.

These strong relationships help to not only build opportunities for our membership from a business point of view, they are also important in the reconciliation relationships and cultural and educational awareness opportunities that they provide for many sector industry partners.

Congratulations once again to this year's NSITEN Indigenous Tourism Champion of the Year winner Robyn Stewart from the Port of Halifax and the incredible work that her and her team do to ensure our meaningful inclusion in Mi'kmaw Tourism initiatives across our ancestral homelands, specifically in Kjipuktuk (more commonly known as the City of Halifax).

Hi everyone,

Please find attached an opportunity for all Mi'kmaw Vendors that are registered with NSITEN as a member or who have registered with us in one of our previous NSITEN Conference MarketPlace Events in the past.

We are reaching out to you to fill twenty (20) MarketPlace Vendor spaces for the upcoming 2026 AFN NS Leadership Gathering that is scheduled to take place at the Debert Hospitality Centre (10 mins past Truro on the highway towards Amherst) from May 7-8, 2026.

As an experienced organization that deals with many events and conferences and vendors, we have offered our support services as a valued partner to our AFN NS Regional Chief Andrea Paul for this event. We are happy to provide these supports and look forward to providing this event with our best selections.

If you are an experienced vendor, ready to showcase your work, your products and have quality authentic products to sell, we invite you to register.

Also, if you are a Mi'kmaw organization that would like to showcase your important work to the Mi'kmaw leadership, we invite you to register.

We are looking for businesses, individuals and organizations who are ready to come and showcase themselves to our leaders, so this is a very high level opportunity that will require your utmost preparation and attention.

If you are interested, we invite you to be considered for these twenty (20) vendor spots through an online registration process that is required.

Deadline: Friday, May 1st, 2026 by 12:00pm (Noon) AST.

Please Note: You will be required (if selected) to stay for the full two (2) days of this event until the event is closed. You will also be required to setup the day/night before the event starts and ready to go each morning by 8:00am.

Travel and meal supports to and from the event are not available but overnight stay at the Debert Hospitality Centre is available on a first come, first serve basis (pending acceptance as a vendor to the event).

When registering please ensure you include as much information as possible so that we can evaluate and confirm your participation in this important event.

Final applications will be reviewed and approved by the selection committee and you will be informed by the end of day on May 1st of your selection. We will also confirm 4-5 backup selections just in case anyone pulls out last minute.

Please share in your networks and to register online please visit our website at: www.NSITEN.com

and when on our website please go to the AFN page - the online link will be in yellow... Follow this link to our Google Form Online and make sure to fill out all the required information. This will be important in our selection process of all applicants.

This is great, we want to succeed, we are tired of being left behind - we want to be ready to contribute to our people's growth as part of this country's commitment to it's First People as part of the Treaties signed many years ago. We want to achieve all the goals that we deserve to get through the same support as the rest of the country receives through sustainable supports from the Federal government. We can't wait to get this work going!
