Whitehorse, you showed up and what a weekend you gave us! 🙌❤️

There were robots battling, tools in motion, new skills being learned, and proud makers holding up what they had created. Everywhere we looked, curiosity was turning into creativity — and creativity into connection.

Some moments were loud. Others were as simple as someone looking at what they had just made and realizing, “I did that.” That’s the part we’ll remember.

To every maker, volunteer, family, friend and curious visitor who helped bring Maker Faire Yukon 2026 to life — thank you for being part of it.

We’re still taking it all in, and there are many more moments and stories to share.

For tonight, we’re simply grateful.

Maker Moment: Ellis at Lumel Studios

We met Ellis and Beatrix at Lumel Studios one of this weekend’s Maker Faire Yukon locations, and their excitement was such a beautiful reminder of what this event is all about.

Maker Faire is where people get to explore, ask questions, try something new, meet makers, and see creativity up close — wood turning, fractal wood burning, glassblowing and hands-on activities to robots, tools, art, experiments, big ideas, lots of fun!

Day 2 is happening now, and there’s still time to be part of it.

The Combat Robot Grand Finale is happening today, and yes, there are prizes to be won. Yesterday’s battles already brought the energy, so today is your chance to come see how it all ends.

Broken toaster? Vacuum cleaner acting up? Small appliance giving you trouble? Don’t toss it just yet.

Join us THIS THURSDAY, August 27, from 6–9 p.m. for Repair Café Whitehorse at Yukonstruct.

Since 2014, Repair Café Whitehorse has been helping people give broken household items a second chance through monthly drop-in repair events. Bring in your small appliance and see if it can be fixed using soldering irons, multimeters, and other tools — while picking up a few practical DIY repair skills along the way.

The event is open to the public, and non-members are asked for a $5 donation to help cover material costs.

Before you replace it, come see if we can repair it.
