We’re excited to welcome Lindsay Caskenette to the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association team as our new Tourism Coordinator!

Lindsay has called the Yukon home for nearly 15 years and brings more than a decade of experience in Yukon tourism, most recently with the Yukon Wildlife Preserve.

With a deep appreciation for the natural world, Lindsay is passionate about the ways travel connects people to place through wildlife, culture, storytelling, landscapes and shared experiences.

In her new role, Lindsay looks forward to building relationships with Yukon First Nations and communities, supporting First Nations-led tourism and cultural experiences, and continuing to listen and learn from the original stewards of these lands.

Outside of work, Lindsay loves exploring the Yukon and spending time outdoors on adventures with her dogs.

The Yúk’e Arts Market is coming back! Hosted by the Northern Cultural Expressions Society, in partnership with the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association, the market will run from December 4-19, 2026 at Ghàts’etsi, formerly known as Northern Cultural Expressions Society in Whitehorse.

Artist applications for the 2026 Yúk’e Arts Market will open in mid-October, with Indigenous artists living in the Yukon invited to apply to have their work featured in this year’s market.

Today we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We implore people across the Nation to take the day to reflect on the harmful legacy of the residential school system in Canada.

Today is for learning, listening and respectful commemoration as we, as a nation, continue to acknowledge the living history that has caused trauma and grief within Indigenous families for generations.

We honour the resilience of Indigenous people across Canada and hold space for our community. We send prayers, peace and strength to those who have carried the burden of pain, trauma and grief.

Indigenous and non-Indigenous people will continue to build relationships and heal. The journey will continue to challenge us, but the necessary outcome is what makes the work so important.

We are with you and will continue to assist and work for you.

We’re thrilled to welcome Alicia Sivuluaq Harry back to the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association team in her new role as Arts Coordinator.

Originally from Inuvik, NWT, Alicia is of Inuvialuit and English, Scottish and Irish descent and has called Whitehorse home for the past 24 years, living, working, creating and raising her four children on the Traditional Territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council.

A practicing Indigenous artist and entrepreneur, Alicia has spent the past four years deeply involved in the Indigenous arts community. Through her work with YFNCT, Yukon University, CYFN, KDCC, NCES and others, she has hosted workshops, participated in festivals and residencies, developed her own artistic practice, and built meaningful relationships with established and emerging Indigenous artists and knowledge keepers.

For Alicia, Indigenous art is about much more than creating. It is about sharing knowledge across generations, telling stories, healing, connecting community and honouring Mother Earth.

In her new role, Alicia is excited to bring her experiences, relationships and love for the arts to supporting YFNCT’s work with Indigenous artists throughout the Yukon and beyond.

Over the course of an entire day, participants will learn the use of a goldsmith’s suite of tools to be able to shape various metals into the support and decorative pieces needed to complete their vision. Whether it is for the findings behind your next set of earrings, the chain for a perfect pendant, or for further development towards producing rings and bracelets, this is truly a valuable step for artists of any background.
