Page mandate/mission:
We are here to create true accessability for all (yes big mission) through an educational campaign that will not only affect public knowledge and awareness but true actionable change for all of us, we are a great community;
Having said that, it is not always cohesive, we have become blind to our own aibelist ideations, what disability looks like, what we hope to achieve is be
tter policies surrounding curbs and handicapped spaces in the downtown core (at first), reform in parts of the healthcare system ie who can receive their handicapped placards, as those forms are naive and truly outdated, better civil engineering, better snow removal, and a true vibe that ANYONE who wants to be can be independent can be if only we made some tweaks to our way of life thus far. Yukon we are awesome, but we can be better, all we need is people with lived experience, a will for change, lots of compassion for those who don't seem to understand us, and good ideas for better accessability & inclusivity for all. Not only do we truly believe that we can affect real change, but that we can do better, if we really do our best not only could we make life easier for our residents, but for those who are differently labeled to want to come here for tourism. Let's be that shining star for not just Yukon, but maybe even the rest of Canada!
