Different ages, different belt levels, all sharing the same mats! 🥋

One thing we love about Taekwondo is that kids don’t have to be the fastest, strongest or most athletic to belong here.

Some are building their confidence, others are learning new kicks, and some are preparing for their next competition.

Everyone has something to work on, and there’s room for all of them at Whitecourt Martial Arts Centre. 🥋

We are still looking for some paid volunteers for the upcoming AGLC fundraising casino the Taekwondo association has been granted on October 18/19th.

We have about half the positions filled. This is a HUGE fundraiser for the association and sets us up long term with keeping the program going and affordable in our current building.

If anyone can volunteer a shift or two to help the organization out, the signup link below, which also includes additional information. Anyone of age in your family can volunteer for the 250$ credit, if you have family in Grande Prairie (where the casino we get to work is located) who might want to volunteer, they can also do it, we just need to know their names beforehand.

Hotels and meals and travel (kms) are reimbursed for all volunteers (kms are reimbursed for the drivers).

We only have 11 spots left to fill!

Thank you to everyone in advance, this is a big one!

Check this option and submit the form again if you would like to proceed with changing the repeating pattern and updating spots with assignments. This update will change assignments that participants have signed up for.

We’re on the mats from 4:00–4:45 PM!

Missed a class this week? Busy with another sport on Tuesday or Thursday? Or just want a little more time on the mats?

An extra 45 minutes on the mats means more practice, more one-on-one help and more time to really get those skills down. 👊

It’s included with your membership and open to all ages and belts, except Ninjas.

🥋 PD DAY CAMPS ARE COMING TO WHITECOURT MARTIAL ARTS CENTRE!

No school? We’ve got the kids covered! Our PD Day Camps give kids ages 5–12 a fun, active place to spend the day while parents are at work.

Kids will enjoy martial arts, games, activities, confidence building, making new friends and learning valuable life skills. No martial arts experience is necessary — everyone is welcome!

One of the best things kids can learn is that being good at something usually starts with being willing to be bad at it first.

Missing a kick, forgetting part of a pattern or getting tapped out and having to try the same thing again and again.

That’s part of learning.

Martial arts gives kids a place to experience that in a really practical way. They learn that struggling with something doesn’t mean they can’t do it.

Sometimes it just means they haven’t learned it yet! 😎

And that’s a lesson that goes a lot further than the mats.
