The Rotary Club of Whitecourt is proud to provide a $4,000 donation to the Whitecourt Library to help foster an early love of reading in children throughout our community. Last Wednesday we were blessed to have our 2026 RYLE participants and parents join our evening meeting. The students did a presentation about their RYLE Youth Adventure.

Hallie, Mikayla & Danika all spoke very highly about the activities and sessions they took part in and especially about the amazing connections they made.

Kevin Jeon (who we sponsored to attend RYLE last year) applied too and was chosen to be a RYLE counsellor this year. He spoke to us about his own growth as a leader as well as detailing some of the experiences that he led. The councillors had to complete monthly training sessions from December till April to become a certified RYLE counsellor. Congratulations to Kevin on creating such a positive, inclusive experience for all the students! By sharing his story with us all, he has inspired others to possibly do the same.

A huge thank you to McDonalds Whitecourt for donating all the Apple pies for grade 3 students on the final day of the Apple Dumpling Program. This is the reading and anti-bullying program that The Rotary Club of Whitecourt organizes and supports based on the Rotary 4 Way Test.
