Hi Everyone!
Healthy Families Healthy Futures is inviting you to participate in a Community Needs Survey that will help inform our application to the Public Health Agency of Canada to continue supporting prenatal and postnatal caregivers and their children.

Your feedback is valuable to us as we strive to gather data that will articulate the needs of the communities we serve, in relation to our existing programming and will support a four-year grant application, until 2030.

The survey takes about 5 minutes to complete, and all information gathered is confidential and anonymous.

Dear our BGC Whitecourt Friends and Families,

It is with deep regret that we announce the permanent closure of BGC Whitecourt & District. After much careful consideration, the Board of Directors has made this difficult decision due to ongoing financial challenges and a sustained decline in registration.

Despite our best efforts to continue serving our community, the current circumstances have made it unsustainable to keep operations going.

Our final day of service will be March 28, 2025.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families, staff, and community members who have been part of the BGC Whitecourt & District family. Your trust, support, and dedication over the past 20 years have meant the world to us, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to have worked with you and your children during such an important time in their lives.

As we move forward, we are committed to supporting the families affected by this closure during the transition. If you need assistance with finding alternative childcare arrangements or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We will continue to provide any available resources during this time.

We also want to express our deepest appreciation to our incredible staff, whose passion and dedication have made such a positive impact on the children and families in our care. Their unwavering commitment to creating a nurturing, supportive environment has been truly inspiring.

This decision has not been easy, but we are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together and the difference we’ve made in the lives of many children and families in our community.

A huge thank you to Justin Berget, Assistant Golf Professional at Whitecourt Golf & Country Club, for helping us launch the program. We truly appreciate you volunteering your time and expertise! Whitecourt Indigenous Friends Society & BGC Whitecourt are inviting teens to get creative and explore Indigenous arts and culture! This FREE program is open to youth ages 12-18. 🪶🖌️

Join us every Thursday from May 8 – June 19, from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the BGC. We’ll dive into exciting art forms like beading, dot painting, clay art, and more, while learning about the rich history and traditions of Indigenous peoples.

We’ll finish with an exciting field trip to the Alexis Nakota Sioux Powwow on July 4th!

Our lucky winner Chantelle won a basket valued at $1,000! She will be keeping warm with her new Canada Goose Jacket and getting a beauty warm glow at Fabutan!! Thank you to everyone who bought tickets for the Warm Your Heart Raffle!! All of the ticket sales raised $800!!! This will go towards programming for the children, youth and teens in the community!

Buses have been cancelled for today February 5th, 2025. We will still be open for morning and afternoon care but parents/guardians will be responsible for picking up and dropping off unless your child attends Central School.
