Have a Safe and Sunny Long Weekend, White Rock! ☀️
The long weekend is here, and White Rock RCMP wants everyone to enjoy our beautiful waterfront, parks, and local spots safely. Whether you are walking along Marine Drive, relaxing at the beach, or heading out of town, please keep these quick tips in mind:
Share the road: Expect extra traffic and pedestrians. Watch your speed and put phones away.
Lock it or lose it: Remove valuables from your vehicle and secure your home before heading out.
Enjoy responsibly: Plan a safe ride home if your weekend plans include alcohol or cannabis.
Say hello: Look out for our team and community policing volunteers at Seafest this weekend!
If you see anything suspicious or need police assistance, call our non-emergency line at 778-545-4800, or dial 911 in an emergency.

HAVE YOU HEARD OF OUR HOME VACATION CHECK PROGRAM FOR WHITE ROCK RESIDENTS?
Simply attend the White Rock RCMP front counter and fill out a form with your address and information. Our community police volunteers will conduct home security checks while homeowners are away. Our volunteers will randomly do perimeter checks of the residence ensuring doors and windows are secured. Anything suspicious will be noted and reported back to RCMP and the homeowner.

Always secure your residence when you go out!!!

RCMP is advising the public to ensure their residence is secure before going out after a couple of incidents in Burnaby.

Burnaby RCMP recently received two reports of residential break and enters on the same day where an unlocked patio door was the point of entry. Both residences were in the Forest Grove area of North Burnaby. Several rooms were rummaged through and personal items including jewelry were stolen in both cases.

“With the warmer weather now upon us, we’re reminding everyone to secure their doors and windows when they go out,” said Cpl. Chad Premack, Burnaby RCMP’s Property Crime NCO. “Often a simple locked door or window is all it takes to avoid being a victim of property crime.”

In previous years we have seen people working in their back yard become victims simply because they did not lock their front door or window.

Before leaving your home, do the following:

Close and lock all windows every time you go out.
If you have an alarm, ensure you set it before you leave.
Keep your doors locked even if you are just in the back yard.

White Rock RCMP has established a temporary Community Policing Trailer for the beach this summer. Located in the pier head parking lot in the 15000 block of Marine Drive, it will be used by staff and volunteers during community events and beach patrols throughout the summer. Please note that this office will not be manned 24/7. Should you require police, please continue to call 911 or non emergency 778-545-4800.
