WS Butterflyway Project Volunteer Rangers help create butterflyways in the community, by creating various garden projects, sharing knowledge at local events & online.

Helping pollinators by getting more native plants in the ground. Welcome to the Whitchurch-Stouffville chapter. The David Suzuki Butterflyway project began in 2017 with a simple aim:

To inspire people to plant native wildflowers throughout their communities. This project is a volunteer led movement bringing nature home to neighbourhoods

Huge shout out to the stouffville Girl Guides who meet at Wendat public school. They were an incredible help with packaging and labelling the native seeds we collected. The seeds will be available at the Stouffville Public Library, Saturday October 24.

Now is the time to start collecting your seeds for next year‘s plants. Have a walk around the garden and see what native perennials and annuals are ready for seed heads to be picked. Make sure you leave some for the birds and to fall in the ground to just plant themselves. Here’s instructions on winter sowing. Try it out, it’s easy, saves money and it works.
