Brooklin-Whitby Garden Club BWGC is a volunteer organization founded in 1921. All with an interest in gardening are welcome.

Speaker Profile: Carson Arthur

Carson Arthur is an author and entrepreneur, with a sold-out book Garden Designs for Outdoor Living and he has a new book called Vegetables, Chickens and Bees where he teaches new gardeners how to grow food and become more sustainable in their own outdoor spaces. In 2019, Carson opened his namesake market in Prince Edward County. With a focus on growing food, organic principals, and products that make gardening accessible to everyone, Carson’s Garden + Market has quickly become a destination for discerning gardeners.

Thank you to guest speaker Helen Battersby, who joined us on Earth Day to discuss Unexpected Pollinators. It was an informative presentation with stunning visuals. We have included a few slides from Helen’s presentation. One big takeaway: wait to clean up your garden until nighttime temps are over 10 degrees. Many pollinators overwinter in the garden debris.
