Today we remember Sloane Jillian Pasher.

It was 8 years ago today that Sloane passed away.

We remember her for the joy she shared with all of us. It’s because of Sloane’s precious life and her family’s care and love for other families that her legacy is fuelling the vision of Sloane’s House Children’s Hospice.

Hello Family and Friends of Sloane's House.

Many of you may have received this invitation in a personal email or seen this event shared in our year-end newletter.

We wanted to also share it here and send this reminder. We know that it's easy for time to get away from us. Between gifts and sleep and leftovers and medical appoitments and shovelling, it's easy to forget that Monday Dec 29th will be here in 2 days.

We would love to have you join us for our Second Annual Family and Friends Skate. Don't worry if you can't come for the whole time. We would love to see you even if you can just come for 45 min. Our dear friend Douglas Mackenzie will be playing music for us as well. Join us for some hot chocolate and warm up by the fire.

DelPark Homes Centre is a fully accessible wonderful facility. We love that the leisure room allows for you to access the rink directly.

Durham Region has one of the highest populations of medically fragile children in Ontario. But when they need medical respite or hospice care, they and their families have to travel to Toronto or Ottawa. We need a Children’s Hospice in Durham. We had a fun and lovely evening at Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre for the 2nd annual Sloane’s Stroll.

We walk and roll and stroll for the children and their families.

As we continue to build programming all the fundraising support helps us to bring these programs to families for direct support and communities for education and awareness.

We can’t do this alone We get by with a little help from our friends, and we don’t take that for granted.

Thank you to Regional councillor and City of Oshawa Councillor Tito Dante Marimpietri, Regional Councillor Willie Woo, MPP Lorne Coe, MP Jamil Jivani for being present to offer some welcoming remarks and thank you to MPP Jennifer French, MPP Todd McCarthy & MP Rhonda Kirkland for sending welcoming greetings.

Also, thanks to our dear friends Douglas MacKenzie for the wonderful music and continued friendship, Team Twisters for being the beauty with face painting and keeping us thinking with our amazing magician, and to our new friend Undercoverdachshund for the joy you bring.
