Free summer opportunity for Durham families! 🌱🍽️

MannaHelp is happy to share the 2026 summerlunch+ Program by summerlunch+ for families living in Durham with children ages 7–16.

This free, completely virtual 8-week program runs from June 29 to August 21 and includes weekly live cooking classes, nutrition learning, new recipes, a chance to make new friends, and $40/week in grocery support.

What a beautiful day of care, relaxation, and restoration for people who spend so much of their lives caring for others. 💚

We are deeply grateful to Rising Spirit Bed & Breakfast & Wellness and the wonderful team who chose to make wellness meaningful beyond the retreat experience.

Through this workplace wellness retreat, they not only took time to pause, breathe, and restore, they also gave back with a generous $130.60 donation to support Mannahelp’s work.

This is what community impact looks like: care flowing from one space into another, helping us continue to support families across Durham Region with dignity, food, and hope.

With heartfelt appreciation to the Region of Durham for helping our Community Garden continue to grow through the CSIP grant. 🌱🎉

Because of this support, we have been able to build a new walkway, add more garden beds, and prepare for the installation of our shed soon.1😊

These may look like garden improvements, but to us, they mean so much more. They mean safer access, more space to grow fresh food, stronger community connection, and a more welcoming place for families, volunteers, and neighbours to come together.

Join us for Mannahelp’s Garden & Community Appreciation Day as we celebrate our garden, our volunteers, our partners, and everyone helping us grow fresh food for the community.

We’re honoured to welcome the Mayor of Whitby to join us for this special celebration.

There will also be FREE BBQ; come hungry, bring your family, and celebrate with us! 🌭🍔
