To mark International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, CUPE renews its commitment to fighting for the safety of 2SLGBTQI+ persons at work and in our communities.

Hate directed towards Two-Spirit, le***an, gay, bisexual, trans, q***r and intersex people is on the rise in Canada. Some right-wing provincial governments have introduced regressive, transphobic policies and legislation that put 2SLGBTQI+ youth and the workers who support them at risk.

Today and every day, CUPE supports the fight against transphobia, homophobia, and oppression to make our communities and workplaces safer and more inclusive.

CUPE Local 53 is proud to endorse Krista Laing for CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer!
As the Chair of the Ontario Municipal Workers (OMW), Krista has consistently demonstrated the financial transparency and fearless advocacy our members deserve.

A former member of Local 53, Krista understands the unique challenges facing frontline workers and has the proven experience to manage our Provincial resources with integrity. Krista doesn’t just talk about solidarity; she lives it on the picket lines and at the negotiating table. We trust her vision to strengthen our union and ensure every local has a voice.

Vote for Krista Laing to be our next Ontario Secretary Treasurer — leadership that works for us.
