Looking back on a busy summer of events with our Zero Waste Heroes! ♻️

From helping people sort their waste to tracking what gets thrown away, our team has been hard at work helping make community events in Whistler more sustainable.

We tailor our waste stations to each event, provide trained Zero Waste Heroes to guide attendees, and track the waste generated. This helps event organisers understand what’s being thrown away, identify opportunities to reduce waste, and make future events even better.

A huge thank you to our hardworking Zero Waste Heroes for all you do! We couldn’t do it without you. 💚

Including a pilot food waste project in their private residences, and training for housekeeping staff on how to sort waste properly.

Do you know what a Goshawk is? Now is your time to find out.

Local conservation biologist Bob Brett will be presenting on Wednesday 21st October at the Maury Young Arts Centre at 6.30PM: "Wings in the Forest: Why Goshawks Need Old-Growth Forests."

Sellers: Anything that is unsold must be taken home with you. Please check out Whistler Community Services Society Re-Build It and Re-Use It guidelines on what can be donated this weekend of the year as it is an extremely busy time for them.

On Saturday, October 17, eligible Whistler voters will vote for:

• 1 Mayor
• 6 Councillors
• 2 School Board Trustees

Polling is open from 8 AM to 8 PM at Myrtle Philip Community School.

If you haven’t already, take a few minutes today to make your voting plan and make sure you have the information you need.

Circular Economy Clothing Swap 🙌

283 KGs donated
226 KGs swapped > that's 80% rehomed!

54 KGs of remaining sellable clothing was diverted to Whistler Community Services Society.

Huge thank you to Nita Lake Lodge for donating their space, Dusty's for lending their clothing rails, to our volunteers for donating their time, and to those of you who came to partake in Circular Economy practises!

Finally thank you to our partner RMOW who help make this work possible.
