‼️ALERT! Busy donation weekend coming up, Oct 17 and 18‼️Here's what you can expect this weekend so we can all have a smooth donation experience!

❌We cannot take:
- cardboard
- end of life textiles (holes, ripped, stained, broken)
- broken items

⛰️Local? Not moving? Consider donating another day when our stores are less busy!

🏡Moving? Please bring no more than 2 garbage bags worth PER household, this will NOT be an ideal weekend to bring us full vehicle loads!

⏰Avoid disappointment and donate EARLY in the day, our team may have to close the donation door early if we reach capacity!

How can YOU have a successful Creekside Community Garage Sale? Make $$$ and help and the Re-Use-It and Re-Build-It stores AT THE SAME TIME! On Sunday, October 18, our stores will be expecting lots of donations, find out below how you can help and how you can make MORE MONEY selling your stuff!

As we gear up for this amazing community event put on by Aware Whistler on Sunday, October 18, here are some tips to help you SELL MORE and to help our staff accommodate a BIG donation day:

1. Selling? Price matters, sell MORE! Is your pricing in the same range as neighboring stalls? Can you lower the prices on items that are not moving during the sale? Consider slashing prices and having a "half off" sale for the last hour to move more items and make more money!

2. Local? Not moving? Consider taking your donations home at the end of the sale and donate another day when our stores are less busy!

3. Donating? Moving? Please bring no more than 2 garbage bags worth PER household on Sunday, October 18, this will NOT be an ideal day to bring us full vehicle loads!

4. PLEASE NOTE, if you prefer to donate in the afternoon: Avoid disappointment and donate EARLY if you NEED to donate on October 18, our team may have to close the donation door early!

Please note that our store will be CLOSED on Monday, October 12. We are in the middle of a busy donation season and our bears are out! 🐻Please do not leaving your items outdoors while we are closed, bears like items that smell like people, we live in their home, and it's our job to keep them safe.

Please note that the Re-Use-It Centre will be CLOSED on Wednesday, September 30 to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We encourage you to wear orange and reflect on this day of mourning for the Indigenous children who did not return home from Canada's residential "schools".

Hi friends! Our hardworking Re-Use-It staff are physically, emotionally, and literally IN THE PILE right now! 😂 Thank you so much for your donations that support our community programs and thank you for helping our staff while they are in their busiest receiving time!

For the next 8 weeks as we navigate THE PILE 😱 and HUGE daily donation volumes here are some ways we can all help each other support our community:

- you may see our donation door closed for 15 minute intervals if the donations pile up too quickly so our staff can clear the donation area! This is for your safety and theirs!

- occasionally our team may have to close donations early for the day if we reach capacity! If our staff close the door or turn away donations it is because our leadership team has asked them to, thanks for supporting them!

- if we do have to close donations remember that our sister store, the Re-Build-It Centre, is open to receive donations in Function daily from 10am until 4:30pm and can take most of the same items! Let a staff member know you are dropping off! Re Build It Centre Whistler

- if you are moving and can spread your donations out over a few days we greatly appreciate that!

- if you can, please limit your donations to the equivalent of two garbage bags of donations per day!

Please note that the Re-Use-It Centre will be CLOSED for both shopping and donations on Monday, September 7 for the stat holiday. Thank you for not leaving your donations outdoors when we are closed, our team appreciates it!

Reminder that donations left outdoors:

- attract animals (protect our bears!) 🐻
- can be damaged by weather (wet items cannot be sold or stored!) 🌧️
- block key entrances and exits (our staff need safe access to stores!)‼️
