FREE Camping Experience for newcomer, immigrants and refugees.
Alice Lake Provincial Park – July 15–17
(In partnership with Learn to Camp and BC Parks)

This is a free program designed to provide participants with the basics of safe camping, as well as access to the beautiful natural areas within our provincial parks in the region.

This camping trip will take place at Alice Lake Provincial Park from Wednesday, July 15 to Friday, July 17 (two nights).

🌿 Free Summer Hiking Program for Newcomers, Immigrants & Refugees 🌿

Join our welcoming hiking program designed to help you learn the basics of hiking while exploring some of the most beautiful BC Parks in the Sea to Sky region.

This FREE program offers guided hikes throughout the summer in a safe, supportive, and friendly environment—perfect for beginners!

📍 Summer Hiking Schedule:
🥾 Murrin Provincial Park- Wednesday, July 8 from 4 to 7 pm
🥾 Late July – Joffre Lakes (date and time pending to confirm)
🥾 Late August – Garibaldi Lake (date and time pending to confirm)
🥾 September – The Chief (Squamish) (date and time pending to confirm)

Participants will learn:
✨ Hiking safety and preparation
✨ How to navigate local trails
✨ Outdoor skills and environmental awareness
✨ Confidence to explore nature independently

Seek to Connect: Outdoors Together 2026–2027 is a welcoming outdoor program for newcomers, immigrants, and refugees in the Sea to Sky corridor. From June 2026 to February 2027, participants will build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging through inclusive outdoor experiences in the beautiful BC Parks of Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton.
Activities include camping, guided hikes, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and outdoor education focused on safety, wildlife awareness, and Leave No Trace principles.
No experience is necessary. The program is designed to be accessible, supportive, and fun for all participants.

The Play to Connect program is part of our Free newcomer services aimed at assisting newcomers and immigrants to Canada during their transition. Moving to a new country can be challenging, and our team is here to help!

➡By participating in this program, you will:
- Meet new people and build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Engage in enjoyable and healthy physical activities that enhance overall well-being.
- Discover local events and services that can benefit you.

➡We provide:
- Pre-booked Soccer Field
- Soccer balls to keep the game going.
- Bibs to differentiate teams.
- Corner flags to mark boundaries.
- Goalkeeper gloves for net protection.
