Whistler Pickleball Week, starting August 13th, 2022

Back in 2020, our municipal Council proclaimed Whistler Pickleball Week to start on the second Saturday of August, recurring annually.
We are excited to announce the fun starts next Saturday, August 13th with three specific community-based, community-wide, free activities that fall in-line with our association’s core values.

First, during Whistler Pickleball Week we are hosting free “Introductory Pickleball Sessions” at Myrtle Philip gymnasium, targeting groups up to 6 family and/or friends facilitated by certified instructors. Loaner paddles can be provided and indoor shoes are required.

Second, for the younger players, a Student/School Challenge! As a handful of our association’s “Ambassadors” have volunteered hundreds of hours over the past year within the local Community Schools coaching the next generation of Pickleball players, we know first-hand just how excited our younger generation is to play our ever-growing sport. Students simply register on-line and log the details of their pickleball activities over the course of the week. Prizes include trophies, pickleball balls and, of course, bragging rights for their respective schools!

Fast track to 3.0 clinics to continue after Easter, for the next 3 Wednesday evenings at Myrtle Philips Community Gymnasium, to a limited number of eager players looking to improve their game.

A total of 6 instructional hours over 3 evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. April 20, 27 and May 4th.

Play-Practice-Play Format = lots of ball contact = lots of fun opportunities to improve! With registration limited to 14 participants over three courts, there is a lot of paddle time to be had!

We are pleased to announce the continuation of 3 opportunities to play and improve, all are being held at Myrtle Philip Gymnasium in Whistler:

1. "Fast Track to 3.0" Clinic;
We are pleased to continue to offer this clinic on the next 3 Wednesday evenings starting this Wednesday, March 30th (6-9pm), at Myrtle Philips Community Gymnasium, maximum 1 to 5 instructor to participant ratio, maximum 15 registrants. Please note this clinic ends on the Wednesday evening prior to Easter. Value priced for WPA members at $65/person, non-members $75 for the 3 sessions.

2. "Doubles Path to 4.0" Clinic;
Once again, we are pleased to announce the continuation of this clinic for the next two Sunday evenings, April 3rd and 10th, 7-9 pm. Designed for players looking at taking their game past recreational play, 12 people maximum. At present, only available to current WPA members and competitively priced at $50/person for the two sessions.

3. "Fun Fridays Recreational Play"
continues for the next two Fridays, April 1st and 8th, 6-8pm, $15 per person each week.

We have room for 1-hour introductory Pickleball clinics this evening in Whistler at Myrtle Philip School Gymnasium. Your choice, 6 to 7p.m. , 7 to 8p.m. or 8 to 9p.m. on a first come, first served basis.

Fun Fridays continue at Myrtle Phillip Gymnasium...

Once again, this Friday, March 25, 2022 at 6 pm we will be utilizing a round-robin format on 3 courts for up to 18 participants over 3 hours. Players can expect to be on court for well over 2 hours. It's fun, healthy, recreational play.
