Pictou County Rivers Association

Pictou County Rivers Association A volunteer organization dedicated to protecting and conserving the waterways of Pictou County, Nova Scotia. New members are always welcome!

The Pictou County Rivers Association (PCRA), was formed in 1990 by a group of county residents dedicated to protecting and conserving Pictou County Rivers through organized volunteer work and education. For more than 25 years, the PCRA has been actively involved with: fish habitat protection and restoration, public education about our valuable waterways and the aquatic life they sustain and fish s

pecies conservation through enforcement and stock enhancement programs. We are a non-profit environmental organization. The PCRA is an affiliate of the Nova Scotia Salmon Association and we work closely with resource management departments from all levels of government. Many local businesses and industries generously support the work of the PCRA. The PCRA works year-round to promote conservation, restoration and education in our community! Some of our programs include;

Winter Ice Fishing Derby - Middle of February
Fish Friends Program - March to June
Children's Fisherama - Middle of May
Spring Fish Stocking
Summer Fish Habitat Restoration - June to August
