The Kids with Kawasaki Foundation is a non-profit organization aiming to promote awareness for heart disease, focusing its activities on Kawasaki Disease. We form partnerships with schools in our community, hospitals, medical professionals, and other charitable organizations in order to further our goal of promoting national awareness of Kawasaki Disease. Located in Montreal, Quebec, we aim to ach

ieve the goal by starting campaigns, organizing events, collecting funds, creating a discussion forum, and offering a support network for parents and patients of heart disease. Kawasaki Disease (KD) is a serious illness characterized by the inflammation of blood vessels throughout the body that primarily affects children and infants under the age of five. It is the number one acquired heart disease in children. Symptoms include fever, rashes, red bloodshot eyes, and swollen hands and feet. The cause of KD is unknown, making the disease extremely mysterious and dangerous. In fact, 25% of children who are not treated develop coronary heart disease in the future. Timely diagnosis and treatment is extremely important as a result. On average, it takes three doctors to diagnose a child with KD. Doctors thus continue to study the causes of KD, developing appropriate ways to easily diagnose it.
