Resting and Reclining Figures

The art of resting. In a world that glorifies movement, production, and measurable outcomes, choosing stillness feels almost rebellious. We’ve been taught to equate our worth with what we produce, to fill every pause with purpose, to run even when we’re tired. Yet there is something deeply human, almost sacred, in slowing down. In doing nothing and letting the mind wander. In listening to the quiet instead of filling it. Rest is not absence, it’s presence, a way of returning to ourselves before the noise of the world takes over again. That’s what I’m trying to do even by a 5 min nap. I will always admired those who manage to live in rhythm with themselves, who don’t let urgency dictate their pace, who create from calm instead of chaos. Maybe rest is not a break from life but a part of it, the space where art, clarity, and strength are quietly reborn.
