Dawson Green Earth Club A group of engaged students at Dawson College, working with the community to unite in the fight for climate justice.

The Dawson College Green Earth Club strives to promote sustainable practices to the community in a fun and inspiring manner. We plan to reawaken the Dawson students' sense of environmental responsibility through events that are educational, practical and enjoyable. The club will be a haven for young, proactive students to exchange ideas and facilitate the growth and achievement of these ideas. By

collaborating within the club, and also with Sustainable Dawson, the Dawson Student Union, the faculty and the administration, we plan to improve the lifestyles of Dawson students, and the practices within the college.

Green Earth Club is going to the Insectarium of Montreal on Wednesday April 29th from 2:30-4:30PM! This is our last Earth Week event– it aims to promote biodiversity through seeing and understanding the beauty in and importance of insects and arachnids.
Tickets are free, but spots are limited. Reserve your place by sending us a DM, first come first serve.

Meet-up is at Dawson college and we will take public transport to get there. Further details will be sent to those who have reserved a spot.

Come join us at our Earth week events!

On the week of April 20th, GEC collaborates with:

- DFU to break the taboo around reusable menstrual products;
- Living campus to promote home grown produce;
- Poetry club to discuss the importance of thrifting/buying second hand books

Additionally, to combat fast fashion and clothes overconsumption, we encourage our members to drop by our club space if you need help fixing small garment imperfections.

Finally, on April 29, GEC is having an outing to the insectarium; tickets are free but spots are limited!

Join us on Thursday, March 26th in 4E.15 at 7pm for a screening of the film The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025).

In January of 2024, 5 year old Hind Rajab was murdered in Gaza by Zionist forces after 12 days trapped in a car. The film depicts the phone calls between Hind and responders at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

Afterwards, there will be a discussion on the effects mass bombardment on Gaza’s ecosystems amidst the ongoing genocide as well as the intersections between colonialism, capitalism and the climate crisis.

Join us on Thursday, March 26th in 4E.15 at 7pm for a screening of the film The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025).

The Green Earth Club is back for this semester!
Many events are coming up soon… so stay tuned!

To ensure you all can stay updated on our events, we are looking for two social media managers that will handle our media accounts and create posts so all information can be well transmitted to our membership 😉 !!

This position is for Winter 2026- though students who will continue to attend Dawson after this semester may keep their position for the following semesters through reapplication.

Hey all! We’re having two bake sales coming up in the next two weeks, so come and pass by for a sweet treat!

Proceeds will be going to Nature Conservancy of Canada and to funding the Green Earth Club’s events next semester. If you do decide to donate to Nature Conservancy ($3) on top of purchasing a baked good, you’ll enter the raffle for a chance to win one of the free boxes of fresh produce from OddBunch !

Join the march this Saturday 27th to show your support for an ecological transition in Quebec! ☀️ 💧

The Green Earth Club will be waiting at Dawson’s Lower Atrium at 12:30PM for members who would like to join. We will head to Place des festivals and arrive at around 12:50PM in time for the march! Please send us a message saying you will be joining us at 12:30 so we can know who to expect :)
