Offered in many Alberta communities by Community Futures. Lemonade Day in Northern Alberta is on June 13, 2026! Lemonade Day is about more than a Lemonade Stand and it is more than just a Day! Help us empower today’s youth to be tomorrow’s entrepreneurs! Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches Alberta youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemona

de stand. The foremost objective of Lemonade Day is to empower youth to take ownership of their lives and become productive members of society – the business leaders, social advocates, volunteers, and forward thinking citizens of tomorrow. Lemonade Day is open to kids - kindergarten to high school. Each child that registers attends Lemonade University where they receive a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some. This is a great opportunity for kids in rural Northern Alberta to try their hand at starting and managing their own business, but Lemonade Day is a big project so we need your help! We are looking for participants, volunteers sponsors and more. If you are interested in being a part of Lemonade Day 2024 please contact us today. Lemonade Stand Name: Winter's Lemonade Stand

Lemonade Day Story:
What started as a simple idea quickly turned into an unforgettable journey for Winter. From squeezing fresh lemons to preparing each drink, she put her heart into every step of the process. Her little hands grew tired, but she kept going because she knew that every cup of lemonade would be made with love and dedication.

Through this experience, she learned that running a business means more than just making sales. It takes patience, effort, responsibility, and commitment.
On Lemonade Day, Winter stood proudly at her stand wearing her bright yellow apron and matching hat. She smiled and welcomed everyone who stopped by. There were moments when the work felt challenging, but she never gave up. Winter transformed from a kitchen helper into a young business owner, serving fresh lemonade with confidence and a smile.

Along the way, she learned how to speak to new people, manage responsibilities, solve problems, and believe in herself.

She also decided to donate $50 to Points West Living Peace River. Points West Living is a seniors’ community that provides care, support, and a welcoming home for older adults, helping them stay connected and enjoy meaningful moments each day. Although it might not be a large amount, she believed that every little bit could make a difference. Winter wanted to give back to the people in the community who had shown her kindness and support. She hoped that her small contribution would bring a little joy to the residents and remind them that they are valued and remembered.

The rest of the money will be saved for her future plans and dreams.
She might not win the contest, but what she learned throughout this journey is far more valuable. She discovered that she is capable of doing hard things. She learned that success is not always measured by trophies or prizes, but by having the courage to try, the determination to keep going, and the kindness to give back to others.

No matter the outcome of the contest, Winter has already won. She gained confidence, created meaningful memories, learned important life skills, and discovered that even small hands can make a big difference in the world.

Lemonade Stand Name: The Lemon Kid

Lemonade Day Story:
Hi! My name is Elias and I am 7 years old. This was my first Lemonade Day, and I started a lemonade business called The Lemon Kid.

I wanted to do Lemonade Day because I thought it would be fun to learn how a business works and earn my own money. I also wanted to meet people in my community and make them smile with a cold drink.

My stand was set up outside Brio Boutique in Cochrane during their Sweet 16 celebration. My slogan was β€œFresh Squeezed Happiness.” I sold three flavours: classic lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and lavender lemonade. My family helped me build a lemonade stand, make signs, and get everything ready.

One challenge was making sure we had enough supplies and getting everything prepared before the big day. I learned that running a business takes planning and hard work.

My favourite part was serving customers and seeing people enjoy my lemonade. I learned how to talk to customers, handle money, and work hard to reach a goal.

I sold $220 worth of lemonade before expenses, which made me feel really proud. I plan to save some of my profits, spend some on something fun, and share some by helping others.

Now that I have been an entrepreneur, I want to keep learning about business and make The Lemon Kid even bigger and better next year!

Lemonade Stand Name: Lightning McLemon

Lemonade Day Story:
Start your engins and get ready to meet Armaan Subtain and Zoya Dar for the race of a lifetime. We are Lightning McLemon, a perfect pair lemonade stand located at Petro Canada (300 Connaught Drive, Jasper AB). Come fuel up with 2 Delishious flavours because we were open 9:30-2pm. We offered a hot and cold option for our wonderful customers this year based on research and surveys. We selected the 2 best flavours after testing with our neighbours and friends. We took our results from last year and our suggestions made by customers and judges and aimed to please and improve every aspect of our stand.

This year the goal was to win best stand, best entrepreneur and best recipe. We started with our business plan, name and theme. We decided Lightning McLemon is the best name for our cars themed stand at Petro Canada. We collected recycled boxes, drew cars on them, and painted it in bright colors. We gave each flavour a matching car and name to catch attention.

We improved on our marketing skills by making marketing posters on the computer and putting it all over town on notice boards. We created and online add and used social media to post on local groups. We also used chalk to write on the pavement 25 different spots accross town daily. We first focused on local spots and then expanded to tourist spots too as lemonade day approached. We texted all our family and friends to share with their friends and walk in town telling people about our lemonade day and stand.

Our 2 recipies was created by testing 6 different flavours and voting by neighboring friends. Our 1st recipe named Rusteez Tea (Honey, Ginger, warm lemonade) and our 2nd named The Classic King (Classic ice cold lemonade infused with strawberries and mint). We sold our lemonade at 2dollars each and had chips to sell as well. We loved interacting with our customers, took tons of photos in our KaCHow photo booth and enjoyed talking to the judges. We won best stand 2026 and best entrepreneur 2026 in Jasper AB. We look forward to next year to win all 3 awards.

We think we really build a good themed stand with a clear theme, simple and bright decorations and also listening to our customers and friends suggestions. We were really confident and our matching marketing all over town caught alot of attention. We got alot of photos from friends posting with our chalk advertising across town. We know our recipies were amazing based on customer and judges feedback.
Make and plan for less lemonade cups to sell. We will also access our location based on more foot traffic with less car traffic around. We are aiming to win best recipe next year so we will include more and new recipies for testing and voting with neighbours and also in the community.

The weather was unpredictable throughout the week. Our chalk kept washing away daily from the rain and we had to redo it daily which took lots of valuable time. We overcame it by going back each day checking all the spots and rewriting them. Next time we will take turns more often.

This year we evolved alot by adding our marketing spots and adding new methods to get the word out to the community and tourists. We also had a clear theme which people loved and admired. We offered a hot and warm drink this year to accommodate weather changes. )last year every customer asked for a warm drink). We had less help and did way more on our own. Our mentor allowed us to find our own solutions and ouch through.

Winning all 3 prices next year is our goal and getting to the final round in Texas. We also would like to go to the farmers market with a new product to sell.

What was YOUR first hustle? πŸ‹

Be honest. What was YOUR first hustle? πŸ‹

Mowing lawns?
Babysitting?
Selling candy out of your backpack at school?
A lemonade stand (obviously)?

Whatever it was, you probably remember it better than your first "real" job.

Because that first hustle taught you something different:

😎 Nobody told you to do it. You just did it.
πŸ’΅ You learned what your time was worth.
🀝 You talked to real customers. (Scary!)
✨ You felt that spark: "I can make things happen."

That is exactly what Lemonade Day gives kids today. Except now they get a step-by-step app, a curriculum, and a whole community to back them up.

Your kid deserves that spark too.
