This historical centre was built in 1895 and was used as a one room school house. In 1967 it became incorporated as the Eagle Community Centre and hosts local events.

We're excited to announce that West Lorne Library is being expanded! The new space will have a bigger children's collection and study rooms, so that we can continue to meet our community's needs. While we're very excited about this expansion project, it does mean that the West Lorne Library will need to be closed starting April 30 for the renovations. We anticipate being able to reopen in the fall.

During the closure, the book drop will still be available, but programs, a browsable collection, and holds pick up will take place at one of other library branches. Luckily, Rodney Library and Dutton Library are both nearby. On February 4th, 2026 at 7 pm at the Eagle Community Centre, the Board of Directors is hosting their Annual General Meeting for the Eagle Community Centre Inc. Everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
Consider being part of our team and assisting with this historical building so it may stand strong in the Hamlet of Eagle for many years. It takes a great team of volunteers to ensure the Centre is well cared for.
We are looking for individuals interested in coordinating fundraisers, researching grants, assist with rentals, maintenance and other tasks.
The Board meets monthly on the first Wednesday at 7 pm.

Rent the centre, make a donation or become a member!
The cost is $50.00 for a lifetime membership. You will receive email updates regarding upcoming events and then you choose how often you wish to help or participate. Our goal is to grow our membership and we invite anyone interested to reach out to us by email: [email protected].
Your membership fee will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the building.
Great things happen here so let's keep the community spirit alive and well in Eagle!

The Dutton Library will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, August 14th, and for our regularly scheduled hours, as work continues on constructing new sidewalks. Please enter the Library through the back door entrance, and bring your books back into the Library too, as the book drop will still be inaccessible.

The West Lorne Library and the Roots and Revival Festival are pleased to announce this year's Chapter Chase in the town of West Lorne. Sign up on the Beanstack app and search for the Elgin County Library Chapter Chase.
