After 6 months with us, Leo has gone back home! Leo, the 31 year old Cooter, is a permanent resident of our ReptiSit services. She comes to stay with us every winter, while her owner is in Florida. She arrives every November and returns home every May. This is the 3rd year Leo has been with us! We will definitely miss her until she comes back to us in November.

Had to split the boy hedgehogs up today! They were starting to get a little nippy with each other. Luckily, we just so happened to find this nice cage at a thrift store today for $20!! So, needless to say, Vanilla got all set up in his new home today! The other two boys were given their own enclosures as well. Now we don't have to worry about the boys causing any injuries.

Over the last 2 days, I have completely overhauled all 4 aquatic enclosures! Yesterday I tackled the 80 gallon tank, eventhough there are no inhabitants. The entire tank was drained, scrubbed and refilled. I even broke down and cleaned the Fluval 406 canister filter that goes with it.
Today, it was time to take on both ponds and Leo's tank! Leo, Squirtle and Lumpy even got a bath today before going back into their nice, clean enclosures!! Both ponds and Leo's tank all got the same treatment as the 80 gallon, completely drained, scrubbed and refilled. Yes, their filters were all cleaned up as well. All 3 turtles were fed some Hikari Turtle pellets after getting acclimated to their clean homes.

Getting some salad prep work done for the week! Chopped up some Arugula, Collard Greens, Endive, Romain tops and some Bell Peppers(red, orange, yellow and green). When I feed, I also grate some carrot to add to the salad. I top it off with calcium, multivitamin/ or bee pollen. I will also use Flower Topper if I have it.
I fed the Uromastyx right away after preparing the salad. Next is all 3 beardies. Everyone is getting fresh salad tonight!!

Doing some cleaning and rearranging of the Reptile Room. A bit of a dry run/ planning the layout of the room. Once this crappy weather breaks and we get some consistent nice, warm days, I am going to break down the entire Reptile Room. Every animal is going into temporary enclosures for a few days. Every bug colony will be moved out for a short while and this entire room is getting a hardcore clean. Each enclosure will be completely gutted, scrubbed, sanitized and set back up fresh. I want to rearrange some tanks and shelves to optimize my space and make everything more accessible. Because everything in this room has been slowly added piece by piece over the passed 5 years, some areas are a little cramped!!

I have started this post twice over the last couple days,but get side tracked and start doing something else.
We currently have 3 baby hedgehogs available. 2 boys and 1 girl. All are handled often. The girls stays balled up a little longer than the boys, but she will open up and let you hold her. They are so damn cute!! If you would like to welcome one of these adorable baby hedgehogs into your home, please reach out and we can make it happen!!
We also have a few pictures of Auzi spending some time with her little guy, Vanilla. He is super sweet and seems to really like being held.

Yesterday was bath day for the Hedgehogs, all 7 of them!! This is the second time Reggie and Peaches have had a bath, but it was the babies first bath. The boys LOVED it! The girls liked it too, but they pooped in the tub a whole bunch. I had to drain the water and refill so I could clean them up. The whole family had overhauls on their enclosures. Everything was scrubbed and sterilized, fresh substrate and, of course, fresh food and water.
The babies have been separated from mama almost 2 weeks and are doing amazing!! Feeding very well independently and growing so fast. As of May 1st, the babies will be ready to move on to new homes. 4 babies in total are available, 2 boys and 2 girls. There are 2 that are already spoken for. Once they have been selected and adopted, the last 2 will be available at first come, first serve basis. If you happen to message before May 1st and get your name added to the list, then you also will be notified the day they become available.

The baby hedgehogs are 6 weeks old today!! They have grown so much! It has reached the time to start separating the babies from mama and keep the boys away from the girls.
With that being said, does any of our followers have any habitat cages they would like to donate or sell to us?? I am in need of at least 2 cages. I need to get some in my possession in the next week or two.
Once I have them separated, I will keep them for a short while to make sure they are fully weaned and can properly feed themselves, then they will be available for adoption. I do have a list for the 4 babies available. There are 2 names on the list so far, so there are still 2 babies up for grabs!!

2 new additions to the Hermit Crab tank today!! Hermit and Squintz. We drove out to Caledonia this evening to pick them up. Their owners are moving and can't take them.
Lately, I've been considering upgrading the Hermit Crabs to a larger tank because they are so active,I figured they would appreciate the extra room. I guess now I have the perfect excuse to do so!
