The Wawanesa Lions Club will be holding a Yard Sale Fundraiser during the Town-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, May 23 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lions Club House.

We are currently accepting donations of clean, saleable items to help raise funds for community projects and charitable donations.

If you have items you would be willing to donate, please contact us.

Wawanesa Lions Chase the Ace is happening tomorrow, April 3, at the Oakland INN Wawanesa. AND the pot is $3000 so tickets will be continually drawn until someone finds the Ace of Spades. Tickets will go on sale at 5 pm with the draws starting at 7 pm. Come on down to join in the excitement. Profits from this project help the Lions support the community and Lions Project. Someone is going home with $3000, there is no doubt.

Supper starts at 6:00 PM, with entertainment beginning at 5:30 PM!

If you’d like take-out, please call 204-721-0938 (Lion Mike Fisher).

If you need a ride, the Personal Care Home will be using the Handy Van, and we can also arrange pickups from individual homes if needed.

Note: To qualify as a senior, at least one person in the couple must be 65 or older.

Wawanesa Lions Club – 13 November

The Wawanesa Lions Club was proud to support local resident Shelby Wilson, who approached the club requesting assistance with the purchase of a much-needed wheelchair due to a debilitating medical condition.

After reviewing the request, the club pledged $2,000, covering half of the total cost, with the understanding that Shelby would work toward raising the remaining amount.

Approximately one month later, Shelby returned to the club with the news that she had successfully raised her portion. In keeping with our commitment, the Wawanesa Lions Club fulfilled the pledge.

The club extends its appreciation to Shelby for her determination and to the community members who supported her efforts.

This is another great example of how Wawanesa and the surrounding communities come together to help those in need.
